Pulling into Fremantle Train Station it's lovely to see that it still retains some of that early 1900's charm, in fact there is much that is charming to explore in the port city of Fremantle. It's been unbearably humid in Perth this last week, but I can see an end in sight, looking out of my window now at the grey skies I predict rain..soon, hallelujah!! Hope your week begins well, take care and stay safe.....

The fist shot is marvellous!
ReplyDeleteI know it's hot but... er... :-)
Great captures, Grace!! Interesting "people" shots of the waiting passengers! I sometimes wonder if our many growing cities ever have the public transportation that we would like to have??? The stations/stops seem to be overflowing most of the time!! Hope you have a great!!
ReplyDeleteIn my corner, we still have stations from XIXth century!(and sometimes I think that even trains are as old as stations...)So I admire this very modern place!
ReplyDeleteI am soooo jealous. We have none of this. Except for a few areas of this country, we are left pretty much to our own devices to get wherever it is we want to go! Looks like a wonderful system.
ReplyDeleteI like the look of Fremantle station Grace!
ReplyDeleteWonderful series of photos!
ReplyDeleteI love train stations like these!!! (very European!) I didn't know that Australia has good train service... not much train service in the states...it's more of a treat or a special trip rather than a functional mode of transportation here...
ReplyDeleteStations can be such top places to make pictures.
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
Filip
We have no rail service to the airport either although they are in the process of putting a line in now so there is a lot of construction going on across the west end of the city. it will be a treat when finished.
ReplyDeleteVery Beautiful! Always nice to be on your blog ;-)
ReplyDeleteGreetings from the Netherlands,
DzjieDzjee
I love the light and the little window in image nr.3
ReplyDeleteNice way to travel, by train.
funny how different people look from what I see in the metro here right now !
ReplyDeleteGrace on a train! I am wearing her down.
ReplyDeleteHow interesting that Perth lacks rail service to the airport. Finally Toronto is working hard to complete fast, reliable service to its airport. Yes, FINALLY!
ReplyDeleteIt IS very modern and efficient looking and I love the openness of the first photo. I don't think very many cities can keep up with our appetite for travel, whether it's airports, train stations or highways.
ReplyDeleteDid you get up in the middle of the night & do a 'rain dance'? Don't think CB knows what should come first!! Love Freo :)
ReplyDeleteGeez, even we have a train from downtown to the airport. But there are other cities without a direct train connection from the center to the airport - - 2 of New York's 3, Los Angeles, Dallas, to think of a few big ones in this country.
ReplyDeleteWhat's with the clothing of the people in the second picture?
Enjoyed these views of the railways areas! All that metal has been well organised into quite an arty roofline at Perth station! But Fremantle station wins in the cosy ambience stakes!
ReplyDeleteAnother fine set of photos, Grace, some raising more questions than they answer. Your transportation system looks pretty modern, even if it doesn't do everything one might ask of it.
ReplyDeleteI am SO imperthed with Press!
ReplyDeleteImpressed with Perth, I mean :)

Amazingly, even New York City lacks a fast rail service from Manhattan to both its major airports. And your station looks far more modern and airy than any in NYC! I love this entire collection.
ReplyDeleteGreat images, love train stations, the rush, the atmosphere, the people, a lot to photograph! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures, specially the first composition.A feeling of vacations and I love the light!
ReplyDeletehugs and a nice week

Love going on the train. Those look super train stations and very busy too!
ReplyDeleteNice to see your stations, it is something you always pass and don't take time to look at. What on earth is that fellow in front wearing, a singlet of his big brother? Want to show his biceps?
ReplyDeleteare the trains air conditioned?
ReplyDeleteThose two stations are quite different. What a contrast. I'll keep my fingers crossed for some rain to head your way!
ReplyDeleteAww, sweet memories! And yes, I´ve never seen a trainstation that clean!
ReplyDeleteGuess your wish worked, too! I had to break hard on an icy road this morning and managed to stop in time. Wish I could send some minus-temps over...
Your stations look so clean! Hope you had a great time!
ReplyDeleteLike Perth, Melbourne is sans rail link to Airport. I bit of a faux pas in cities like ours.
ReplyDeleteTrains are good!!! Lets have more, with sunshine!
ReplyDeleteIt looks quite modern and amazingly clean, especially with so many people traveling through it. You should be pleased. When I was in Paris a couple of years ago, I was blown away by the filth at the train stations. Sounds like you have as much going on in Perth right now as we do here in Sarasota. Busy time!
ReplyDeleteDo you have tickets for your train system, or a pass that you 'tap in and tap out'?? We are so antiquated over here, with an old paper ticket... Melb, Hong Kong and Tube in London all have a pass and its SO much easier!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the pics, trains and planes fascinate me!!
I do like those shots, Grace!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely believe that which you said. Your favorite justification seemed to
ReplyDeletebe on the web the easiest thing to be aware of.
I say to you, I definitely get annoyed while
people consider worries that they just don't know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and also defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people could take a signal. Will likely be back to get more. Thanks

I’m not that much of a internet reader to be honest but your sites really nice, keep it up!
ReplyDeleteI'll go ahead and bookmark your website to come back in the future. Many thanks
