Waaaaaak! who ruffled your feathers.....!!
We've had windy weather in Perth for the last few days, REALLY windy weather. My old mate Mr. Grumpy galah had to hold onto the fence to save himself while he squawked at me for breakfast early yesterday morning. At this time of the year the cool breezes coming in from the desert early morning working together with the sea breeze coming in around midday keep the temperatures very pleasant indeed, it's only when mother nature gets a wee bit tardy and comes in late that things start to heat up. I suspect she may be late today, we're expecting a 35C day..oh la! now we begin, give me some of your showers now please. Have a wonderful weekend, take care and stay safe....
What a delightful colored bird!! Never seen one of these!! I love him and his color! Wonderful captures for the day, Grace, as always!! Hope you have a great weekend with great weather! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weekend, Grace!
So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLike my hair when I get up! Eheheheh lovely bird! Arianna
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible bird!
ReplyDeleteOh my, this made me think of Dame Edna Everage. Don't ask! The reason must be that I'm tired and sick and have been toiling with fever! :-( This a gorgeous one!
ReplyDeleteLieben Gruß, einen glücklichen Tag und Sonnenschein

he looks like a sturdy guy, so I believe you that it was REALLY windy!
ReplyDeletePoor Mr. Grumpy Galah does look like he's holding on for dear life so he doesn't get blown across the landscape.
ReplyDeleteMr. Grumpy sounds demanding:) But with colors like that, I'd give in and help the chap out:) Is he wild? Very exotic parrot!
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo.
Mr. Grumpy is quite elegant looking, all dressed up like that with a red vest! I'd be a bit ticked off, too, if the wind threatened to blow me off my favorite perch. Tell him he should be glad that he's not in Florida now as Hurricane Sandy is creating a few windy challenges. But things are going to get immeasurably worse up in New Jersey and New York as the storm moves north and collides with cold Canadian air. They're calling it a "Frankenstorm" with high tides, high winds, high water, tons of rain and maybe snow. Estimated damage is already $1 billion USD and it's not made landfall yet. :(
ReplyDeleteHaha Grace, can't believe you posted Mr Grumpy in todays post as I was photographing his kin this morning on my early walk!!
ReplyDeleteHe's a bit cute hey? :)
Mr. Grumpy is delightful. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is one colorful bird! I love those eyes. They look like they are surrounded by jewels!
ReplyDeleteO - M - G !
ReplyDeleteYou DO live on THIS planet, right? That is a bird, and not an alien?

A fine pink bird. Now, you do what he demands, OK?
ReplyDeleteDo you know how blessed you are to live in a place that has the things you get to take casual photos of?? Amazing!
ReplyDeleteTalk about Pretty in Pink.
ReplyDeleteI would gladly take some of your heat for our showers, but only if this bird comes with it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fantastic photos - galahs are one of my very, very favourite birds. [The colour when a flock settles in a tree at sunset can be astonishing]. Mr Grumpy sounds right - they have strong personalities. Now you've got me grinning like a fool. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHe looks like he's wearing rhinestones around his eyes. Reminds me of Dame Edna, possum.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of a beautiful bird :)
ReplyDeletegroayla
beautiful bird
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing
A quoi peut-il bien penser?
ReplyDeleteEn tout cas, il est très beau!
I do love reading about Mr Grumpy. Hope you have a great weekend too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful bird and the colour is exceptional.
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
Filip
Does he really have this colour? He looks painted.
ReplyDeleteWhile we hold on to our hats Me Grumpy holds on to the fence.
ReplyDeleteNo need for a Halloween costume here.
ReplyDeleteSitting here in my ex-Royal Navy duffel coat bought cheap from the charity shop, wearing woolen gloves with the fingers cut out inside my mitts, my 'beanie hat' on my head and cowering over a candle to keep warm I feel real bad that it might be a bit windy and the temp only 35%.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are great mind!
Mr. Grumpy sure is photogenic.
ReplyDeleteHe is soooo adorable!!
ReplyDeleteWOW, Good Morning, Mr. Grumpy .....!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Grace, do you also have one for me ;-)
Quel magnifique perroquet, je ne savais pas qu'il y en avait de rose.
