Sunset over the WACA

This was the shot I went out for a few nights ago, we had had a few fires around Perth and my friend (an extremely talented photographer and sometimes mentor) worked out exactly which way the wind would have to be blowing for the smoke to contribute to a spectacular sky, as per usual he was right.  The big light towers that you see in the background are the floodlights for the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) grounds (http://www.waca.com.au).

  2. Thanks Pierre and I didn't even realize it was Skywatch Friday, still getting used to the way things work.

  3. A shame about the fires, but they make for great colours in the sky!

  4. It is a shame Nicki, especially as a lot of the fires are deliberately lit.

  6. Thanks Jim, your photo today (it's still Friday here in Perth) was classically gorgeous.

  7. Ahha you have screwed the light down to perfection, to get the detail of the skylne and yet sufficient definition in the sky. The level of smoke really works with you in this shot, Grace.

  9. Fabulous shot, but even more impressive knowing the background story of the set up. Have a wonderful weekend!

  14. Perfect timing with the setting sun, Grace. And your photos look so much sharper when viewed at full size.
