Buggy ride in the Swan Valley..
A while ago, my daughter (above), sisters and nieces (an all female affair) decided to see the Valley (Swan Valley) from a completely different viewpoint. We organized a buggy ride (Buggy ride in the Swan Valley ) it was so much fun, sad to say I cannot remember the beautiful Clydesdale horse's name, lets call him Clive (?) took it all in his stride, not the slightest bit agitated by the cars whizzing by as we clopped along the road. We stopped at a winery to sample local olive oils, jams and pickles and of course wine! Then on to Oggie's Ice Cream for a bit of the sweet stuff! Last stop and most interesting was All Saints Church(All Saints Church) the oldest Church in WA. I like looking around cemeteries, but this one was really sad, so many children died at a very early age in those days, can imagine it would have been an extremely harsh place to settle. Thankfully they were men and women of the hardy type and persevered!

That sounds like a really good way to spend the day together. I know what you mean about the sadness of children's graves in cemeteries, but I still like to visit, no matter what.
ReplyDeleteIt was nice Julie, sometimes it's good to slow down a little bit and enjoy things at a leisurely pace, the ladies in my family try to catch up every four or five weeks and we take it in turns to think of something a bit different to do.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes

Sounds like a good ladies day out with all the goodies to sample :-)
ReplyDeleteI find old cemeteries fascinating too, but you do see some sad life stories there too.
On the first part of the journey
ReplyDeleteI was looking at all the life
There were plants and birds and rocks and things
There was sand and hills and rings
The first thing I met was a fly with a buzz
And the sky with no clouds
The heat was hot and the ground was dry
But the air was full of sound
I've been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
'Cause there rain no one for to give you no pain
(A horse without name,America)
greetings
I think that horse liked me hey Mum!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a very nice day, and a lot of sun.
