'To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow'..

If it happens to be in the middle of the city all the better! The Urban Orchard in the Perth Cultural Centre is looking particularly bountiful and lush at the moment, all that nurturing rain 💚 Once a neglected area on the rooftop of a car park look at it now. The planter boxes are 'made from recycled waste, the plants are managed organically and are harvested and planted seasonally. This is the embodiment of sustainable community gardening and is a valuable resource for all'.  It's lovely walking through the garden to the city beyond. That's the Art Gallery of WA in the background.. rainy days in the city often equate to a gallery visit :) Happy Friday, take care and stay safe..

  4. I miss having a garden, but at least I have a very small patch of scarlet runner beans. The hummingbirds love the flowers and I love eating the beans!

  12. I haven't seen many rooftop gardens, much less an urban orchard. What a super idea!

  13. Oh, yes, I love that place, Grace.
We had some rain here yesterday, too. I so wish we had a tin roof, it was splashing so hard, there was no TV anymore :-)
