PUBLIC.form - six levels of fabulous!

Walking down Murray St. into the city will be more of an 'experience' than just getting from A to B from now on. Check out the progress on the murals above since I first snapped them a few days ago here. The detail is phenomenal and they aren't fini yet! Such a privilege to be able to watch  renowned artists from around the world and our very own home talent work together on this project to create a more vibrant Perth.  Belgian artist ROA at work below with roller and spray can. Embiggen and see the detail.

Yes, it is big..and awesome :) lucky crane operator, what a cool gig!

Sheffield artist Phlegm at work below is more than living up to his reputation as 'street artist extraordinaire'. Check out some of his other work around the world on Pinterest here.

How hard can it be to manoeuvre a cherry picker.. I could do that :)

Our very own Stormie Mills.. I say 'our very own' but I think his reputation is such that he belongs to the world these days, made a start.. the decaying state of the wall adds so much to this rather 'dark' piece n'est pas! When I get back from Sydney the nine day project will be over.. the murals complete, looking forward very much to showing them to you. By the time you read this I'll be on my way, so take care and stay safe until I return a fully fledged 'GiGi', what do you think of that as a possible name for my new status?

  3. This just blows my mind. How do the artists ever actually figure out how to draw what they envision on such a large scale. And they work fast! Amazing. Best wishes on your trip; hope that all goes well.

  7. I'm quitting my job right away! :-) That's what I want to do! Love the close-up too!

Now of course you choose the name you like but if you do, you'll have to realise that you'll drive me bonkers because this is what Gigi makes me think of: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfVZYFbB1uY&feature=kp

  10. I can hardly imagine how boring those walls looked before the murals went up!

  11. I will be the curmudgeon here. Sorry, I would prefer a well-painted red wall. This "art" would get very old, very fast to me.

But, the best part of today's post is the news that you are on the way to see the lucky grandchild. Grace, you can have the child call you Anything you want!

  12. That is just amazing. I wonder how many hours they've put into it.

  19. Great work - just what it is about with the "pregnant" figure? Perth is reborn and not everyone is happy about the changes? Obviously I have no idea about art...

Oh, Grace ;-) I go a wee bit with cieldequimper, but it´s quite common on the other hand, huh? Sounds a tad Italian, too, Gigi. But probably your Grandchild will make the decision anyways. I was Aunt Isa for quite a while, now I´m I-his. Hope you have/had a great time in Sydney!
