In the likeness of...

A few weeks ago I was surprised and thrilled to come across the fantastical mural here on the wall of a car park on Scarborough Beach Road. Mes lecteurs français may recognize the style. Painted by Smudge 'in the likeness of' the style of French artist and children's book illustrator Marie Desbons. The whimsical art of M. Desbons is a delight to behold, see more here. Found while searching, successfully, for treasure of an altogether different kind :) It has been an unbearably hot and humid weekend in Perth, I'm hoping for a cooler week ahead and maybe even a wee bit of rain :) Happy Monday, take care and stay safe..

  5. Very nice mural. Modern, yet reminds me of the 1920s and 30s.

  7. This remiss me of the Keen paintings of the 50's and 60's--girls with huge eyes dominating the canvas. This mural is joyful and appealing. Too warm? Oh, how we who are experiencing minus double digit freezing temperatures would love to exchange places with you!
