Umbrellas and winter sales..

Apart from the winter festivities going on around Perth right now there are also the winter sales, signs announcing anywhere from 25%, 50% and below even better 70% off! In Australia we have Christmas sales, Easter sales, winter sales, summer sales and the biggest of them all the Boxing Day sales.. tourists come and buy up big! In Paris les soldes are restricted to twice a year. There are good and bad points to both.. we're pretty laid back in Perth, there's no rush, if you miss one sale eh (shrugging shoulders) another will be along shortly so there's no real bargain buzz. In Paris it sounds like the first few days of les soldes are a crazy crush and all the good stuff is gone vite then you have to wait until the next season for another. Personally if there's a crush situation I'd rather pay a few dollars more :) how about you? Bon weekend, take care and stay safe..

  1. Generally I buy what I need, when I need it. Sales aren't really a factor.

  3. I'm cheap. I look for sales. But I do buy mostly online.

  4. Our sales are the same as yours with Boxing Day being the big one. I have less & less patience to line up though!

  6. I'm totally with you on the shopping dilemma. I remember when Christmas shopping was a bit of a crush and it was exhausting. Things have calmed down a bit here. We have sales all year long too just like you. So if I don't get it this time, I can catch it or something like it the next time.

  7. Similarly here in the States there are plenty of sales. Christmas, Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, Labor Day, and sometimes I think sales just to have a sale.

Nice photo of the store and the umbrellas.

    Happy shopping.

  8. I only buy when I need something and if it's on sale, that's even better. Just bought shoes for half price on sale last week. :)
Happy weekend to you Grace. BTW, I just love those colourful umbrellas.

  9. Yes, there will always be another sale soon. In fact we are so used to sales that we are reluctant to ever pay full price. What have retailers done to themselves?

  10. The second photo is such a surreal image, like the umbrellas hang over the coats. Nice!

  11. Wonderful reflections, Grace!
We used to have summer and winter sales, too, but now people are free to offer such sales anytime they want so there is no fuzzing around much anymore.
And back then... I was like what you say. Avoid the crazyness and pay a few bucks more later or earlier. Here: rain, rain, rain :-) Have a great weekend.

  12. Yes how many sales you can have. But my closet is almost full at the moment, so I have to stop "just looking" and (not) buying...:)

  13. We do not seem to get winter (or summer) sales very often in our area and I would not enjoy fighting a crown in Paris!! Love the photos and enjoy your Sunday Diane

  14. Nice reflections Grace. I have to avoid buying, sales or otherwise, far too many clothes already!

  15. Well of course I love a good sale! But even better are those umbrellas, they are attention grabbers! You live in a fun city and it's always enjoyable to go along with you there. People and sightseeing, that's the best hobby ever!

  16. I love sales but hate crowds. But my frugal nature makes sport of a bargain so it usually works out. The umbrellas are so beautiful here.

  17. Love those colorful umbrellas. Sales are practically continuous. If price is important, keep a watchful eye. I usually just buy what I want when I want it.
