What would you do?

A question to ponder this Sunday morning! These sweet little kittens appeared with their mother in my garden about a month ago. For the last week mum is nowhere to be seen, I can't imagine she would abandon them so I'm guessing something not good has happened to her.. these two obviously feel safe in the garden, plus of course I've been feeding them, they're so tiny. They are still a little nervous if I get too close but I know I could win them round.. I'm a little scared to get too attached (although it may be too late), still remembering the heartbreak when I lost my last furry friend. The thing is I don't feel right about letting them carry on breeding when they get older so this week I have to make a decision, do I try and catch them and have them spayed and tagged and keep them.. hmm! I may have just answered my own question :) What would you do? Happy Sunday, take care and stay safe..

  2. I think you've already made your decision. They're an adorable pair, and need a home. It's time to take care of them.

  3. Sounds like you've been adopted by these dears who were "lucky" enough to find your garden. Good on you for spaying. The sure cure for a lost (4 legged) love is another romance! Seems to me all 3 parties here have been blessed!

  6. I think you have a soft spot in your heart for them so, yes, have them spade...and keep them. ;)

  7. I'd take them in. They need a home, and you need them. (You do, you know.)

  8. Since I do not like cats....You Keep them.

If you are a cat person Grace, Keep them. They look quite nice and would make good pets. There is always the local Humane Society (or whatever you have in Perth).

  10. Well, even though I'm allergic to cats, I'd still probably do what you're going to do and work as fast as I could to find them a good home.

  11. I think they have found a good home, Grace! They look just like my Kitty did and he was a foundling who stayed for 18 years!

  12. Obviously this is not a serious question. Is there any other answer than to keep the cute kitties? I think not.

  14. Well it seems to me that you've already partly answered your own question... ;-)

  15. We have lots of room so I would have to keep good looking cats like those!

  16. All the neighbourhood cats are well aware that I have neither children or dogs in my back yard and have therefore adopted it as a kind of feline social club. I enjoy their company, someone else feeds them.

  17. You canny keep them if you can't look after them.
Mum is unlikely to return so is it possible to rehome them?
If you keep them, and who wouldn't, the costs will be yours, and they might eat the birds in the garden. Photo opportunities will be many mind.

  19. Knowing me, I'd let my heart rule and I'd keep them. They picked you. If I were you, I'd have them spayed etc., and they'd fill the gap left in my/your heart from the loss of your much-beloved furry mate. It doesn't mean you would love your lost pet less...I'm sure there is enough love left in your heart for these two little fellows. :)

  21. Part of me would want to take the little one in. The practical side would take them to a no kill shelter and hope that someone adopts them.

  22. No need to tell you what I think! My little Sparky choose me & is keeping me on my toes - 3 trips to the vet for vaccination, microchip, flea, worm & tick. No nip & tuck 'till 6 mths!
They are so sweet how can you resist :)

  23. I would make them both mine. It will be good that they have each other. You will really enjoy them and they want to be there. Those are the best kind of cats.

  24. As they seem to have adopted you, with you being an animal lover, I think that your decision has been made!

  25. The mother came to you to show her kittens to you and you gave them a safe place in your garden. I would know what to do if I were you, but also would like to know what happened to the mother. But that will be difficult I suppose to find out. Those cuties are yours.....

  26. It it was me I would have them fixed and keep them, but N is allergic to cats so I would have to find someone to take them off my hands :-( Have a good day Diane

  29. If I still had a garden (the one thing I miss after the move) I'd keep them. They are adorable. Before I took to the road for work, I had a couple of cats. I was lucky that when my job turned to a traveling job, my parents adopted my cats and they lived with them from then on. I visited them when I was home on weekends but, they seemed quite happy to live with mom and dad.

  30. It's time and besides, Pax will adore them!

  31. You sure have. Sometimes it's the little simple things in life that find us, when we need them, even when we didn't know we did! Happy family!

  32. They are adorable. Their mum found you, so I think it was meant to be. They will have a happy and safe life with you and think of all the blogs you can do keeping us up to date with their progress and antics! :-)

  33. My family have always had a cat or two. One stood outside our greenhouses on a very cold Winter's day many years ago. I fed her and she moved in. She was pregnant and we kept one of her offspring's. He became a flickr sensation many years ago and was the coolest cat I have ever known. When our new neighbors moved in they hat two cats. One of them got pregnant with our cat and she gave birth to a whole bunch under the veranda. We gave away all of those cats. The famous cat is now dead, but his old girlfriend moved in with me as she got bored with the neighbors other cat (her sister), so I think you should keep the cats.
