Pink marble & the 'whomping willow'.....

Do any enthusiastic Harry Potter fans out there see the resemblance to the Whomping Willow from the Potter movies? To be honest not being a dedicated fan it had to be pointed out to me :) It's actually one of the marvelous old Peppermint trees in Kings Park but the twisted tree trunk does look a wee bit 'Potterish' oui! Peeking through the foliage is the George Leake Memorial Fountain, being an avid fan of the Victorian era this pretty pink marble fountain is my very favourite of the many memorials in Kings Park, it's a little treasure don't you think? I took these shots early on Monday morning, yesterday the skies were black..so much rain and a bit of hail also..unfortunate timing with the rail closures, but it's desperately needed so...umbrellas up :) Have a good Wednesday, take care.....

  10. P.S. regarding the film and "old" tennis. I remember a scene in the Tudors (I actually disliked the series...)

  12. It really does look like the Whomping Willow.

My husband loves to photograph trees. He finds them endlessly fascinating. I like it when they're odd, such as this one, but tree branches & tree tops...not so much. I tend to disappoint him if it's not my cup of tea.

  25. Another beautiful Perth spot! An interesting tree. Looks like one of our weeping willows, but I've not seen such a twisted trunk before. Met a few twisted people, though. Not in Australia. Elsewhere. :)
