The theme for City Daily Photographers for August is 'my city skyline'. One of the best views of the Perth skyline is from the south side looking over the Swan River. I took these shots yesterday evening around 5pm and by Perth standards it was bloomin' cold.. 12C :) I think Perth looks particularly lovely in the blue hour. If you pull the pics in you will see there are a few additions to the foreshore since I last snapped here.. the bridge and sculptures in Elizabeth Quay.
The sun going down in the west thew a warm glow over the buildings, making the Bell Tower (to the right of the shot look like a shard of light pointing skyward. Later in the week I'll show this same scene about an hour later.. Hope you had a wonderful weekend, take care and stay safe...
Perth really has a magnificent skyline.
ReplyDeletePerth's skyline is grand and totally different from mine :)

You did a great job, Gracie, and the photos are very clear with good detail.
ReplyDeleteYou had the most perfect weather to make these wonderful skyline photos, Grace.
ReplyDeleteIt is a beauty, Grace! Glad you got out in the cold to take the pics!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have much of a skyline to show!
ReplyDeleteLovely, all of it!
ReplyDeletePlease send us some of your extra water and those cold temperatures.
I take it all back. You'd better keep your water if there's not enough rain.
DeleteVery pretty. I hope you were able to find somewhere to warm up.
ReplyDeleteA fine skyline it is and your photos are also fine.
ReplyDeleteNice skyline.
ReplyDeleteI'll trade your 12 degrees for our succession of 36-38 degrees every day in July. August looks to be much the same. And it gets very humid here.
I look forward to seeing the earlier photo.
ReplyDelete53% I feel your pain!
ReplyDeleteLovely shots over the water.
Such a shame about the buildings, but the shots are very enjoyable.
(I hate tall glass buildings, can you tell?)
Nice little place, Perth!
ReplyDeleteThat is a very pretty skyline. 12 degrees C is rather cold I must admit. We are having 20C...
ReplyDeleteSuch an enchanting light tone over the city skyline.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Mum, totally worth braving the chilly weather
ReplyDeleteLovely colors, Grace, especially the last one is very beautiful!

ReplyDeleteBecause of your blog I have moved from now knowing anything about Perth to the position that it's one of the world's most beautiful cities with a majestic skyline!
ReplyDeleteThat IS a real City! And you have made us love it. Very nice context in the final shot, G!
ReplyDeleteLovely views Grace. Perth has a beautiful skyline!
ReplyDeleteYou have a handsome city nut the night shots two days later are something special.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skyline of your city. The photos that you show by night on 3th, are also very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteCities on the water always have nice skylines. :D
ReplyDeleteNice photos of a great skyline! I hope to see it in person someday.
ReplyDeleteExcellent! I think I like best the one with the boat at the front left, to break up the row of buildings.
