Murky reflections.....!

It's hard to imagine after a day of blue skies and warm temperatures yesterday.. and for the rest of the week, that only five or six days ago here in the west we had some of our worst spring storms in many years. Thousands of homes lost power, trees were uprooted and fences blown down. Incroyable! You can see the aftermath of the strong tidal disturbance here at Sorrento Quay where the usually pristine waters (left) were almost unrecognizable!
The tide was so formidable that you could clearly see in which direction it was wildly flowing.. a fact that hopefully this group of silent, slightly spooky :) evening canoeists were taking advantage of. Last burst of action and there's a strong possibility that my kitchen endeavors will be complete today..oh la hallelujah!  Have a wonderful middle of the working week day, take care....

  4. Thanks for taking a break from your remodeling efforts to bring us these photos. I do not, do not, like storms. We've been through several hurricanes and seen up close the damage they can do. But even lesser storms here in Ocala do a lot of damage.

Your photos are wonderful. I love the b&w in the first shot.

  11. Your top photo is spectacular, Grace. I didn't know you had such bad weather. The pairing of the boats in the harbor tells the tale.

    Kitchen work over? Hurrah!

  14. Disasters are everywhere. Storm-tornado-flood -hurricane devistation are now commonplace in the central and southeastern US, along with the Atlantic and Gulf coasts. Keep your radio on and your head down.

  15. There do seem to be a lot more severe storms all over the world lately. Maybe it is global warming. Maybe it is superior global communications that makes us more aware.

  19. I do like that first B&W photo Grace. Very atmospheric. The wind has been pretty incredible over here too. Lots of trees down.

  20. You are the second I see with a B&W photo, is it a trend I missed?

  22. Oh wow, you can really see what the storm has left behind. Black and white was perfect for these moody photographs.
