Flight of the pelican.....

Thank you so much for the wonderful birthday wishes yesterday, I took your advice.. relaxed, ate lots of cake, seriously..lots of cake :) it was a good day! I only had a few seconds from the moment Percy pelican launched himself off the pier to take these shots so they're probably not the best, but I was pretty excited at actually catching a pelican, well any bird really, in flight that I just had to share! I took these on Friday when we were in McCallum Park where you could see (yesterdays post) how the weather was coming in fast, eventually shrouding the city in a veil of mist and rain (last shot) until it was barely visible.. oh how I love this weather. I hope your weekend is going well, will catch up today, take care and stay safe.....

  9. I can't believe I forgot to say Happy Birthday in my comment yesterday!!! I think it's because I'm old enough that I'd rather not count them anymore!!! I still love to celebrate though!!! Hope it was a happy one!!!

  12. Your fourth photo, with the pelican flying to the right against a pale, diffuse city background, is a winner. As are you, birthday girl!

  15. It is tricky to catch a bird in flight in focus.

  20. Awesome sequence of shots Grace! I've yet to capture a pelican so I'm very envious. I remember walking around Perth city on Friday and the weather was certainly changing fast from sunny to rainy so I just hid in my office, haha.
