A touch of gold.....

This was taken just as the sun was setting a few nights ago. Within a matter of minutes the optimistic little patch of gold gave up the battle and disappeared completely, engulfed like the rest of the sky in dense rain laden clouds. I really enjoy that fleeting moment just before it buckets down when the light magically touches anything white in the surrounding area and makes it 'glow'..... Happy skywatch Friday.....!! ps it's a holiday in Perth today, the Queen's in town.....

  7. The Queen is in town? That's a big deal. Prince Harry is in a small town in the Arizona desert getting helicopter training, and that is a big deal here in Arizona, even for us people who are "ex-Empire," which is a term I had never heard until we visited New Zealand and a lady working in a store referred to our group of Americans in that way.

  10. What a stunning palette of color! It would be impossible to count the shades of blue.

The Queen? When I was in Vegas, President Obama's entourage took up the top 6 floors of the Bellagio Hotel... We did not get a holiday.

  23. Hi Grace...re your question about Halloween: No, we are too old to celebrate Halloween! Plus, we live in a 55 + gated community and there are no small children here so we no longer stock up on candy. Which is probably a good thing. That way I don't eat it all before Halloween and have to run out to buy more at the last minute!

    Have a fun time!
