Inhale the future, exhale the past..

Meditation.. because some questions can't be answered by Google :)

While walking along beautiful Mullaloo Beach ten minutes from home last week we came upon a meditation group of around a hundred or more. The young lady above and below found her own spot facing into the soft breeze blowing in from the Indian Ocean, she appeared oblivious to those walking past her on either side, last shot. Do you meditate? I would love to but have great difficulty controlling the ever present thoughts streaming through my consciousness. I might find a class this year, I think there would be many benefits. Happy and peaceful Sunday, take care and stay safe..

The time for change..

My Sydney famille flew home yesterday morning after spending three weeks with us over Christmas and New Year. When they left NSW the devastating fires had already been burning since September, they are still burning now, as they are in Victoria also. In New Zealand 'snow and glaciers have turned brown after being exposed to dust from the Australian bushfires, which could increase glacier melt up to 30%'. So far we have been more fortunate here in WA , but with record breaking heat and drought conditions most of Australia is like a tinder-box.. all it takes is one spark! Lives lost, homes gone, millions of acres of land lost and heartbreakingly the unique Australian wildlife, some of the endangered species possibly lost forever. Damn right people are going to protest, as they did all over Australia yesterday evening. Here in Perth the Climate Change rally was well supported, you might notice a lot of the signs refer to our not so popular at the moment Prime Minister who most feel left it too late to come to the party, I think he has literally burnt his chances of being re-elected.

There was a more substantial police attendance than usual at rallies in Perth.. the effects of the catastrophic fires are making people angry, and frightened also I think. The police horses below were amazing, despite the crowds they stood perfectly still for an hour until they had passed. With horses in the city you have to watch out for smelly surprises, I saw at least one mobile absorbed walker step in the merde, made me think of my visit to Paris :) Well that was a pretty sobering first post back but it has been a shocking time for Australia. Thank you to all who sent messages over the last few weeks. We have had wonderful time with our Sydney family, the grandchildren get more adorable each year 💙I hope you have had a good Christmas and New Year period, looking forward to catching up over the weekend, take care and stay safe..

School's out for summer..

It's that time of the year again, it arrived so fast my head is spinning.. where the heck did 2019 go! Watching the school kids at Hillarys Boat Harbour keeping cool and having fun made me think of the Alice Cooper hit School's Out for Summer, there you go, now you can have it stuck in your head too 😉 My Sydney famille arrive tomorrow, for three weeks this time, so here's wishing you an excellent Christmas and all the very best for the New Year. Take care and stay safe until I see you back here on the 10th January 2020.. à bientôt 💙

All I want for Christmas..

What happened to 'all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth' :) Great excitement yesterday when my neighbour had a pool put in.. I imagine with the weather we are having lately there are more than the normal amount of swimming pools flying through the air. The preparation took all day, the pool when it arrived took 15 mins to plop into place. To get the pool over the electricity wires and the house a bigger than normal crane was used, that's the pool above swinging by over my garage, holding my breath I watched with my super excited eleven year old neighbour.. it brought back memories of my two, much younger, when we had our pool put in.. 30 years ago, how time flies. Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe..

A different kind of fishing..

A few posts ago I took pics of a man in a boat fishing in the shallows, yesterday it was a man with a metal detector. Couldn't help wondering what he was searching for and then on Googling I found this video and it all became clear.. there is treasure to be found in them thar waters :) Wonder how many rings and earrings he found! Have any of you tried this? Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe.. P.s. gorgeous treasure hunting companions he has there 💙

Wily Mr Fox..

We are all different
but there's something kind of FANTASTIC
about that, isn't there?

You can't keep a wily fox in! Spotted the sly fox here sawing his way to freedom when we were in Bunbury earlier this year. Signed in the corner by 'adj'. I took pics of a lot of the fabulous street art in Bunbury, I like to pop one in here and there :) Hope you had/are having a super weekend, happy Monday, take care and stay safe..

Doors of perception..

The city reflected in the closed doors of Fraser's Restaurant. Sorry I haven't been around much in the last two days, the weather is tiresomely hot and tres exhausting, especially when one is hobbling around trying to get a million things done 😉 Big catch up today. Hope you are having a super weekend, take care and stay safe..
