Puffs of gold..

When the weather lets you down thank goodness for mother nature's bounty. We are in the middle of winter here in Australia but the bush is alive with colour, lots of food for native birds. The golden wattle trees, much loved by several species of honeyeaters, are laden with tiny golden spheres that are beginning to burst out into wonderfully fragrant fluffy puff balls. I remember having a golden wattle tree in my garden many years ago, now grown by florists as a gorgeous filler for flower arrangements, I'm wondering why I removed it :) Will show you where I took these shots tomorrow. Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe..

  1. Beautiful trees.. I've not seen much yellow except on bushes and flowers here in the USA. Then there are the Aspen in the fall, full of gold.

  3. Grace, those are beautiful yellow fruit on those trees. BTW, the Indians do not like their dance regalia called "costumes" because they are part of their cultural heritage, so not just put on for show. They call then dance regalia, and items often signify tribe, community, and family. The dances are social and a celebration of cultural traditions. The Pow Wows are not really for outsiders, but the Indians are tolerant of whites so long as we do not violate those traditions. Thank you for your kind comments.

  5. What wonderful blooms. They remind me of acacia blooms which also has a nice scent.

  6. How gorgeous, Grace! The yellow reminds me of spring flowers but you get to enjoy them in winter!

  8. Dearest Grace,
WOW, thank you for showing my favorite Aussie blossoms.
We even went that far for purchasing a real Golden Wattle tree from a special garden aristocrat nursery in Louisiana. But it died here... SAD!
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  10. They don't live to be very old and have a habit of splitting. They aren't a great tree for a garden. However, they look glorious in their proper setting, bringing our normally drab coloured bushland alive.
