L'énorme boule de Noël..

In the city last week to check out the Christmas decorations it was impossible to miss the enormous Christmas tree bauble in the Hay Street Mall. Was looking forward to seeing it lit up on Friday night but it wasn't.. check out all those tiny bulbs, wonder which one was faulty :) Who remembers having to spread out the lights for the Christmas tree at home to find the dodgy bulb? Leaving the city I spotted the trio of ladies below, the princess with her feet up wearing sneakers made me smile :) Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe...

  1. That is big! One of our malls uses giant Christmas balls for their decor, but this is bigger. The princess reminds me of some I saw in our Santa parade- a local company that does the fairy tale thing for birthday parties. I wonder if the same notion exists there.

  5. Oh yes, the dodgy bulb, and the fool who did not throw out an old dodgy bulb. This was all back in the days when a single string of lights was quite expensive. All hail LEDs.

  6. I do remember looking for the one faulty bulb. It was awful and I hated it. Thank goodness we don't do that anymore! I really like that slice-of-life shot with the three girls. Each of them holds some interest for the viewer. I might not have noticed the sneakers if you hadn't mentioned them.

  9. I remember searching for that faulty bulb and getting frustrated. Then I would just go buy a new string of lights. Thank goodness those days are over.
    The sneaker princess is cool.

  10. Neat Christmas decoration. Finding the faulty bulb in the strings of Chinese series wired lights is easy with a reflectometer. I guess the princess got tired of those glass slippers that were only good for drinking champagne.

  14. I'd love to take a shot with the blue haired princess sitting inside the boule. But I love both of yours. (And I hate to even think about Christmas tree lights. I think I'm going to skip decorating our tree this year and put up stuff that doesn't require untangling and stringing lights.)

  18. Oh my, that brought back memories. Yes, I do remember my mom and dad spreading those long strands of lights out on the floor looking for that one bad bulb. If it happened after the lights were up on the tree, we just tended to leave it. I love the princess who opted for sensible shoes!
