Peace, love & ice-cream.. amen!

If only! I've spent so much time in the city lately it was good to have a change of scenery yesterday. Even though it's less than five minutes from home it's been a while since I've had a stroll around Hillarys Boat Harbour, can you believe I missed the opening of Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shop above back in August, how did that happen :) It was perfect yesterday for the two sun-worshipers below, not so much today.. we're expecting a 36C scorcher.. too soon!

The scene below made me smile.. it's what big brothers are for, right!

The Welcome swallow looked so tiny way down there I almost missed it, little cutie! I've missed these walks around the marina, must make the time to do it more often.. we don't do we, take the time to stop and appreciate the little things. Hope your week is off to a peaceful start.. it's what we all hope for, take care and stay safe..

  2. Perfect selection of photos to brighten my day! We actually had a heat-wave- temperatures in the 50's, really! Of course today we're back to ground of snow cover and freezy temperatures, again.

  3. 35C sounds like something I could use. 5C, grey skies and rain in Haninge today.

  4. Ah, and here in Oregon it is chill and rainy as is usual for this time of year, but even that has it's beauty -- and it sends the squirrels to my window ledge to have breakfast!! I love all of your captures for the day as always!! Hope your week is off to a great start! Enjoy!

  5. Aw, man! And it's looking like we may have a major snowstorm Wednesday here. Not fair! :-)

  6. I'm thinking 36°C is too warm for me so I'm happy to be here in rainy Ontario. :) But the ice cream sure does sound appealing. :)

  7. Once again I'm struck by the beauty of your city. Did you drive that old VW bus to Ben & Jerry's? Your weather sounds like our summer weather!

  8. My customer sure´d love a pic of that bus!! May not surprise you, Grace, I never had that ice cream. I still shake my head when I think of the Aussie-ice cream of the year 2006. Vegemite, uhhh, gives me goosebumps ;-)

  9. Love the wee swallow, Grace. It was sunny and +17˚C at noon today so I said "I'm out of here" and went for a walk. On the way back the wind came up, the clouds rushed over, and it started to rain! Still, I'm glad I went out - we do tend to put things off.

  10. Never mind B&J's, I'm way too interested in that little boiling fellow! What a sweetie!

  11. It looks like the sunny days of summer have arrived on your shores. I love that cute little bird.

  12. Cute little swallow!

We get the Ben & Jerry's in that much too small container in the stores, but no ice cream shop like that. Here it tends to be places like Laura Secords... but I don't imagine they get as much ice cream business this time of year. They probably switch over to emphasizing chocolate.

  14. I love that you spotted the little bird. Now let's go for ice cream!

  15. I haven't tried Ben and Jerry's ice cream yet. I rather like Maggie Beer's. The swallow is such a pretty bird. I don't think we have them here.

  16. My daughter went on a Ben and Jerry's ice cream eating competition. She said she wish she did.

  17. I wish you hadn't shown this one, Grace. I cut ice cream out two weeks ago but tonight I have been climbing the walls. Tomorrow I am going to buy some. Heck, I wasn't that much overweight to begin with.

  18. What lovely shots - my favourite is that first one!

  19. Taking time to stop and stare is always good.
Especially if you find wee birds like that last one.

  20. I like the family image the most:)

  21. Over here it's sunny again, but nice and cool temperatures.

  22. 36 C are you kidding, I am glad with 12 C already here :) You noticed that birdie very well! Have a nice icecream.

  23. B&Js and a camper van- heavenly Grace. Sadly it's more mulled wine temperatures than ice cream weather over here!

  24. Love this scene. As if B&J needs something more to attract attention to their ice cream. Scorcher there. 5-9 inches of snow coming here tonight. I'll trade with you?

  25. Ha ha, what a title, Grace!
Could you share a few of your 36C with us?

  28. It is really cold here today in Coventry...so I went in search of some warmth. Did laugh, Grace, with you kicking off with ice cream sort of theme in your top shot. Ah...but you did not disappoint...nice 'warm' scenes followed. Thank you!
