Fremantle fishing boats.....

It seems strange that although I'm not keen on sailing (deep water and all that)...yet I am drawn to sailing vessels of every type.  I love looking at them and they are definitely one of my most favorite things to photograph. Whenever I visit the Fisherman's Wharf at Fremantle there are always so many different types of boats from luxury yachts, huge container ships, tugs and the fishing boats pictured above. I think as a postcard these vessels would probably represent the Fisherman's Wharf most accurately and it is my picture for this months theme day.....

  3. Love this shot! I find myself often at Fishermens' Terminal in Seattle taking photos... it is one of my favorite spots.. if I can't think of somewhere else I default to take shots of fishing and crab boats...

  4. Grace, It is a wonderful photo to represent the area, and isn't that what postcards do? I have kept postcards for years and have quite a collection. I would definitely want this one!

  5. You've even got very oceanic colors here. The ocean beyond Perth looks so vast and empty on a globe.

  11. This should inspire artists, as the colors reflecting in the water are superb. Perhaps Irina from Moscow Daily Photo will be inspired to paint this scene.

  12. Let me chime in and say, I'm also the same way. I love to look at the boats and the water but, I don't have any desire to go sailing. I've only been on one cruise in my life and regardless of how my friends tried to convince me it's the only way to travel, I was completely bored. Give my beautiful cities to walk around and I'm there. I can walk and walk and walk and love every minute of it. On the ship, twice around and that was it, I'd seen it all.
    Love this post card photo!

  19. I love the boating having lived near a coast almost all my life. The photography in a harbor is a treasure regardless the weather, time of day, or season. It is full of life, colorful, reflective and has an abundance of contrasts. Great shot, mon amie.

  25. Great. Each ship is another story, another destiny. Where sailed everywhere with their owners. They could tell. Sorry, I just thought. Nice photo!
