The smallest room (not) in the house!

I remember how impossible difficult it was when we were traveling around Europe to find a decent public loo, this is not a problem in Perth, city or country. In fact even in the bush there are 'facilities'.. IF YOU DARE! You might have noticed the sign in the background below right 'Beware of Snakes'.. so how desperate would you have to be to enter this wee outhouse 😉 Hope this gave you a Thursday morning smile, take care and stay safe..

Chi Chi Fresh..

After our Mother's Day hike on Sunday Aimee and I zipped down to Fremantle for breakfast in the Grumpy Sailor and a look around Fremantle Markets. I dragged out my fish-eye lens again, lots more practice still required :) My 'unable to resist' self won over my minimalist self and I came home with a gorgeous Tree of Life wall hanging that I have no idea where to put.. might make a cool patio tablecloth.. any ideas? Birds in Grand Lane..

 Grand (Theatre) Lane off Barrack Street in the city is vibrant with street art. The 99m of fabulousness here painted in 2010 by Victorian artists Scottie Neoh and Hiroyasu Tsuri aka Bonsai and Twoone during the City of Perth's 'Forgotten Spaces' project.. creating spaces to explore into otherwise uninviting laneways. The other side of the laneway, which I'll keep for another time, is abundant in art of a completely different style. I added the shot below left with man walking by to show size. You might say Grand lane is a bit shabby, which of course makes it super cool :) Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe..

Mother's Day Hike.. Zamia Trail.

We were up before the sun and off to walk the Zamia Trail in Bold Park.. hiking is getting to be a Mother's Day tradition 😉 Watching the sun coming up from wherever you happen to be is an inspiring experience, that and the sun setting seem to be the only things that are an absolutely certainty these days. I love catching glimpses of the city from different areas around outlying areas, the shots above just minutes before the sun burst over the horizon below..

In the other direction there are expansive views of the Indian Ocean.. looking a bit hazy yesterday morning. Walking through the bush alive with the sound of kookaburras, rainbow lorikeets, galahs, corellas and many more birds waking up is a lovely way to start the day.. and also build up a healthy appetite for breakfast :)

Oh those heels!

Each time I go into the city it surprises me to see so many women walking in the highest stilettos.. and then I remember I used to do the very same thing, I loved them. I couldn't help wondering at what stage does comfort become more essential than looks.. let's face it stilettos do make a woman's legs look amazing! Reflections above and below of His Majesty's Theatre. It's been ages since I took detail shots of Perth's splendid Edwardian Baroque theatre, will rectify that next time we are in the city. Can you see what I see..

Can you see.. behind the modern yacht masts above the more romantic masts of the replica tall ship the Duyfken moored at AQWA. I met my SIL's for lunch yesterday at Hillarys Boat Harbour, five minutes from home. I arrived a bit earlier so that I could stroll along the boardwalk and take some pics, it's been a while. It was a gorgeous autumn day, a little chilly at 23C :) but so nice to be surrounded by my favourite colour blue. I'm always amazed when I download the pics how many shades of blue there are in the sky and the water, j'adore 💙Hope you had a good week, happy Friday, take care and stay safe..

Team bride..

I'm guessing that the lovely ladies here having a bit of fun with the bike police assigned to the protest march in yesterday's post are out on a bachelorette party or as we say here in Australia a 'hen's party'. Whatever you call it they were having a super time teasing the policemen, the bride to be commandeering a bike :)  I did mention that it was a peaceful march, an easy gig for the four on patrol. The girls did turn and give me a smile, not sure how they would feel about being on the blog though. I know, I know.. I should have asked them, hence the blurred faces :) Bit lighter subject matter today 😉Happy Thursday, take care and stay safe..
