I think I must finally be getting acclimatized to Perth summers.. it's only taken thirty years or so :) It was 38C yesterday and here I was out and about! One thing is for certain I couldn't live anywhere but by the sea, the sea breeze is a life saver! Sorrento Beach looks a bit quiet, would have been much busier earlier in the day. Below looking up to the marina and the lighthouse which is where we're off to..
Walking along the rocks to the lighthouse.. can you see what I see down there? You'll have to pull it in close..
I like to stand in the shade of the lighthouse and watch the seafarers returning to harbour, yesterday they seemed to return by size of vessel.. and then there were those who preferred to do their fishing from the rocks, if I was 'into' fishing that would be my choice :) Much cooler today 30C, might have to pop on a jumper :) Happy Monday, or Sunday.. take care and stay safe..
City Daily Photo bloggers post photographs on a theme on the first day of each month. On
February 1, they will address this intriguing question: If you had to leave forever the city
from which you usually post, what would you miss most
Ah! How sweet it is to do nothing - When everything stirs around us!
ReplyDeleteYou make those of us in the other hemisphere envious. :-)
ReplyDeleteI wish I were there...! rianna
ReplyDeleteSchöne Bilder vom Hafen mit den einfahrenden Booten. 30°C eine tolle Temperatur bei uns sind nur 3°C und Regen.

Is it all right if I burst into tears at this point...?
ReplyDeleteSuch gorgeous sunshine blessed scenes. There is just something about watching the water that really appeals to me. I just like to watch, I don't care to be on it.
ReplyDeleteGlorious summer pics, Grace!
ReplyDeleteOh the sea, the sea, the beautiful sea. You are fortunate to have the sea to moderate the heat. Inland Florida in the summer can be beastly hot, as well, but too far from the sea! Your photos are glorious and inviting. That little critter there reminds me of some of my teachers when I was young - crabby!
ReplyDeleteOh, I would LOVE to be walking on that beach right now!
ReplyDeleteI feel hot just looking at the scenes and I am not envious. 20 degrees forecast here today, perfect.
ReplyDeleteThat looks so warm that I'd probably join the crab in the water!
ReplyDeleteYou live with great privilege. I grew up maybe 5 km from a big river and 15 or 20 from the Atlantic. You wouldn't find live crabs on a bit of it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder about theme day. It gets by me so often. Is the answer obvious in my case? I'll think on it.
Achingly beautiful shots!
ReplyDeleteSo, no trips to the interior of the continent this time of year, huh?
Wonderful summer pictures Grace :)
ReplyDeleteBut I'm not jealous at all, today I had
my third day of sun already this year ;)
Have a fine sunday

I'm not sure I would ever get used tour hot summers, Grace. For sure I DO love your colourful photos, though, Quite a contrast to the white and grey I've been posting lately. :))
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful place Grace. Not quite as hot here lately. Only about 22C.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lovely walk, I'll take your word for it, my eyes aren't good enough the see the light house. Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteNice walk, thank you!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful beach photographs, Grace.
ReplyDeleteWe both live in cities by the sea
ReplyDeletefar from others,
rooted in our hearts
by now - despite the sometimes heat :-)

The crabby character blends so well into the texture and colours of the rock. I too love sea worlds and couldn't live without them. But our peninsula temperatures over the last few days have been struggling to hold 20 degrees celsius. I only take off my jacket when it warms up late afternoon - and then only briefly.
ReplyDeleteAwww, beautiful pics, Grace! And, yes - when we were travelling your country in the 40C range and it dropped we also put on a jumper at 30C and felt silly :-)
ReplyDelete2C here right now outside.
I think that'd be acclimated in Perth very quickly.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful places :)
I'd love to walk with you to that wonderful place!

Beautiful series, Grace !
ReplyDeleteI'll walk with you, I, II, III, IV, V...
Oh how I enjoyed that. Sigh. I think I see a tiny spot peeking above a distant hill. is that the lighthouse?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of Sorrento, it's a beautiful spot Grace, you're lucky to live so close to it.
ReplyDeleteA nice walk Grace. A jumper with 30 degreesC ehhh?
ReplyDeleteWie wilt er zo nou niet meewandelen ?
ReplyDeleteLooks like a nice warm walk, warmer here as well only -2C this morning.
ReplyDeleteWonderful, Grace. I can almost smell it...
ReplyDelete1st and 2nd shots are excellent!
ReplyDeleteGreat skies.
Thanks for taking us along on your walk. Your summer temps are much like ours Grace. Growing up, my house was just blocks from the Atlantic Ocean and we always had a nice sea breeze. It was a life saver, especially since we didn't have air conditioning until I was a teenager!
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, I already miss these days, locked up here in winter-wonderland. What a gorgeous day out for you all.
ReplyDeleteGrace, I'm comiiiiiiing!!! Light frost here...
ReplyDeleteSorrento beach looks like my kind of place. 38C sounds very warm to me, but why not!
