The 'heartless winker' and Percy Penguin..

Fremantle has a similar 'graffiti policy' to Melbourne.. discussion as to whether a work is deemed 'publicly viewable, has artistic merit and gets you thinking', if yes, it can stay.. if it's simply an ugly tag, ziiip it's gone! I was pleased to see the 'tin man without a heart' was still there.. bit of a story, read about that controversial wink here, our PM whilst trying to explain broken promises budget cuts to a pensioner who had to find an alternative way to make ends meet found himself in hot water once again! I love seeing Perth artist Hurben's Percy Penguin, hard times here on Hay St. but happier here in Bar de Halcyon. Let's hope this is a safer week for all those who dare to question and challenge the answer! Take care and stay safe..

  1. Looking at the video link for your Prime Minister (otherwise known as the Dark Lord Abbott), he certainly does remind me from all I've heard of our hyperpartisan dolt of a PM. The same contempt for everyone who's not in lockstep with his worldview.

  8. These politicians are such a**holes...makes one wonder how they managed to get themselves elected in the first place!

  13. Sadly atm I have no sound, but I reckon I can safely say... all politicians are liars.
Sharp graphics - sadly over here bad "murals" don´t go in a ziiip - they stay like forever...
Have a great week, Grace :-)

  14. From what I've been reading, I'm afraid your Prime Minister has been talking to too many American Republican politicians!

  16. Heartless Winker definitely deserves to stay Grace ... he's got that certain ~je ne sais quoi~
and as for Percy Penguin I fear if he's banished from the bins of Perth he may really know what hard-times are all about.

  17. Just got sidetracked watching other videos of Abbott being a dork. Poor you.

  18. Interesting murals Grace! I watched the video and your PM reminds me a little of our governor here in Florida. We have nicknamed him Lord Voldemort and not just because of his uncanny resemblance to the character in the movie.

  22. I love how street art just seems to get better and better, sometimes way more challenging than the art of the mainstream galleries

  23. Yet, the universal question goes unanswered. What the heck is ART?

  24. You manage to find great shots wherever you go!

  25. We need that question asked to every politician.

  26. It is an interesting policy decision, but it will be very subjective and likely controversial. The best way to decide if street painting is art or graffiti is to just ask me. What I like is art. What I don't is graffiti. Simple.
