From one bridge to another..

When visiting Kings Park a definite must is a walk across the Federation Walkway. The bridge 'extends 620 metres through the botanic gardens over an arched bridge suspended among a canopy of tall eucalyptus'.. sounds good oui! It is, and even an acrophobic like moi feels quite safe. The views are fabulous, above looking over the rooftops of the Swan Brewery now the The Old Brewery towards the Narrows Bridge over the Swan River, to the city and far in the distance the Darling Ranges..

The bridge is constructed in rusted steel to blend in with the bush surrounds.. below looking back up up to the bridge ..

Below, city glimpses.. Oh and did I mention that it's free.. so many things aren't these days! What do you think.. would you make it an essential part of your visit to the park.. of course you would, especially with me as your guide :) It's been one of those days today, so I'm off to bed (Tuesday) and start fresh in the morning, happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe..

  6. Oh I can tell that I would love a walk across this bridge and in the garden in general. Give my nice garden to explore and I'm a happy camper. Over the weekend I watched a show on our PBS network about the Queen's garden at Buckingham Palace. What I would give to explore that garden with my camera! If only that were possible.

  12. Even I dare to walk over there - and, Grace, maybe mention there are free Cat-busses to take you there! :-)
They are still on offer, right - was the Red Cat, I guess.
Perth is just awesome in public transport!

  17. WOW this looks great, and what fantastic views, next time I visit Perth I will definately do it, we somehow never found the time before, I remember looking up at it! My eldest daughter and I did cycle round Swan River though, not the whole river, that sort of circle bit in your photos, from the Bell Tower over a bridge, along the river side, over that dual carriageway bridge (is it Canning Highway) and back. You are so lucky living in such a beautiful place :-)

  22. We've been on cable bridges in forest canopies in Costa Rica but never anything so solid. I wonder if you can feel that you are way up high in the canopy on one of these.
