When is a bench not just a bench!

When it evolves from a place to sit.. into a work of art in its own right! I spotted this bench, how could I not.. at the art exhibition I went to a few weekends ago and immediately thought of Malyss who lives in beautiful Nice and delights us not only with her images but her wonderfully poetic descriptions. This bench looks like it's had many layers of colourful paint over the years that have been allowed to weather and peel to perfection, pull it in to see the swan detail on the legs above.. not a bad view over the Swan River below either. Happy Tuesday, take care..

  3. Very whimsical, very cool! I think you'd have to perch on this bench, not sit! :)

  7. This bench seems to be made from many things; Each piece has its own history, and the result is a master piece , telling a lot of things! Great find , dear Gracie ! and thank you for linking ! ♥

  9. The lower part looks like a Singer-Sewing machine! Or, no.. it got you black Swans as a label?
    Beautiful in any case!

  16. It makes me think of an artist's palette, enough so that I'd check carefully before sitting down.

  19. Looks like it was made with an old sewing machine. Very pretty, and of course the view is wonderful too!

  20. What an interesting eye you have! My first reaction to photo number 1 was that it looks like something deliberately decorated to catch the eye, and photo number 2 was a revelation. A great bit of artistic "tension" in the pair... but as Bob Crowe says, I would be reluctant to sit on it [which might be a relief for the bench.]
