Out in Northbridge looking for more street art created in the Form Public project I came across this work in the Central TAFE area. At first glance it looks like a kaleidoscope of shapes and colours, but if you pull it in you can see much more detail.. I see rifles, pistols, hands behind heads and maybe even the McDonalds logo around the centre (?), what can you see? From the intricate layer on layer design I'd guess it could be stencil art.. may be wrong but feel it's possible this is a kaleidoscope of political protest and intrigue. Not being part of the FP project I had difficulty finding any info on the artist, if any Perthites know more I would love to hear about it.. Hope that you've had or are still having a fab weekend, take care and stay safe..

Well, that's certainly intriguing and oddly beautiful whatever the intent behind it.
ReplyDeleteThis is simply fascinating. I see all the things you mentioned and an occasional bottle and some headless men. Very interesting.
ReplyDeleteThis is an amazing piece. I'd love to find out more as to what the artist had in mind! Kinda weird but interesting!
ReplyDeletePerhaps a statement on the effect of mass-produced guns and burgers ?
ReplyDeleteI like Stuart's explanation. And I like it from a distance!
ReplyDeleteAwesome. But I see guns, too, Grace.... Stuart might have a point here.
ReplyDeleteThat's an interesting way to make one's statement!
ReplyDeleteThere is so much to see in this mural. Thanks to your remarks I see more and more details. Amazing picture!
ReplyDeleteA healing mandala made from elements of harm.

ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful, Grace! And it has such intriguing details.
ReplyDeleteInteresting details.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is interesting close up. I can see the recycle logo and two women facing each other.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very intricate design and I love it. You can really stare at it for a long time, and discover something new!

Spectacular
ReplyDeleteNow that is an impressive and your right Grace, "intriguing", piece of artwork. It would not have been easy to design or stencil. What a beauty.
ReplyDeleteThats a complete different mural than normal ones. I like it.
ReplyDeleteColourful and inviting artwork with much to see and contemplate.
ReplyDeleteYou gave me a chance for a second look... examine closer and you might just open a closed mind.
ReplyDeleteThere's a message there although I am not sure what message.
ReplyDeleteThe fantastic kaleidoscope-painting means ... ? Uhh.
ReplyDeleteI think to try to see the beauty of the superficial.
Thanks to post.
Very intriguing and unique. I can't imagine the amount of time spent in the design, transfer, then the actual painting. (But I'm not an artist!) :-)
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Monday Mural.

ReplyDeleteFantastic! The details are amazing. It's a great mandala.
ReplyDeleteIt is a fascinating work, both as an overall form and then as a piece created from individual elements.
ReplyDeleteThere is so much to see in this piece. I love all the color!
