This is Lily, she walked out of the bushes at the top of my garden a few years back in a very sorry state indeed. One of the many cats that at some stage through whatever circumstances find themselves homeless and unloved. It only took me a few days quietly talking to her to win her trust, lets face it, animals are no different from humans in that respect, they just want to be loved. She wasn't a kitten by any means and I have no idea how long she'd been living rough, from her condition I would say a long time. It made me very happy to know that at least for the last three years of her life she was queen of her domain.....
p.s. I know I'm a day late with the 'tranquility' theme, but at this time of the year when the weather's going up and down like the stock market (I was going to put in a little more risque comparison, but wasn't willing to take the chance of offending anyone haha!) dreaded lurgy's abound and I've spent the last two days abed not feeling 'the tranquil vibe'! On the mend and looking forward to catching up with soothing images from around the world. Click here to view thumbnails for all participants
Really sweet!
ReplyDeleteHello to sweet Lily! would you please offer a big hug to her for me? And thank you for your sweet mind, offering a home to a cat could give you a place in paradise.
ReplyDeleteOh, Lily does look so peaceful and contented! How wonderful that she found a good, happy home with you!! Do give her a hug from me as well! Good to see your post and I do hope you're feeling much better! Take care and enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
She's a lucky cat to have found you!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! We rescued several cats, one is with us, the other one in Malta now.
ReplyDeleteGetting quite cold in your corner of the woods. Take care!
I can't think of anything nice than curling up in the sun for a snooze. Hope your 'on the mend' continues.
ReplyDeleteI can imagine several more risqué comparisons, lol! Glad you're on the mend and I'm sure Lily is purring!
ReplyDeleteArggh... Having to type comment again, Blogger keeps telling me service is unavailable...
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I think I said that I can imagine several more risqué comparisons! :-)
Glad you are feeling a bit better and I'm sure Lily is purring!
Don't hold back on my account. Cats look very peaceful when they sleep. Dogs often dream and move around like we do.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely not a cat person, but good on you anyway!
ReplyDeleteHaha... cute, lovely interpretation, Grace!
ReplyDeleteCats love that feeling of being 'hemmed in'. Mine will sleep in the draws of my work table. Nuts ... quite nuts.
ReplyDeleteHaha... cute, lovely interpretation, Grace!
ReplyDeleteI wish you a nice weekend.
This is as tranquil as tranquil gets Grace .... She picked the right garden to mozzy into.
ReplyDeleteGlad your on the mend. I wonder if the risque bit was about a pair of knickers? :-).
ReplyDeleteCats are said to be poetry.
ReplyDeletePlease have a good new month ahead.
oh yes!

I have been away from the blog world because of ill health and an operation; now I am back and I see that you have taken amazing pictures in the meantime. I was scrolling through your blog. Ah! that cat picture is a picture of peace and tranquility, but why did you say that you were glad to know she had a peaceful three years of her life. Has she passed away?
ReplyDeleteLily is a lucky cat.
ReplyDeleteSorry you are under the weather. Rest up!
Your Lily is one lucky, and tranquil looking, feline.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better. You and Brattcat had the same idea.
ReplyDeleteIt is OK for you to post Theme Day a day late, because that makes you right on time for those of us in the Western Hemisphere.
Oh so cute...:-)
ReplyDeleteThat's an angel with four paws.
ReplyDeleteCats definitely know how to sleep. Lovely.
ReplyDeletePero que lindo gatito... Es que me encantan...
ReplyDeleteSaludos y buen fin de semana.
Cats sure know how to relax. Great shot for the tranquility meme.
ReplyDeleteShe is so like our Ivory! She is very lucky. Hope you are feeling better.
ReplyDeletebeautiful, lucky lily to have wandered into your garden. i can well imagine how much she is missed. but what a gift you gave to each other over those three years. hope you continue to mend. (lurgy...has that got to do with lethargy, allergy, some other lergy?"
ReplyDeleteA cat wanders in and takes over, it was ever thus.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cat! Glad you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet, beautiful kitty! And how wonderful that you were willing and able to take her in! Hope you are feeling better and more alive!
ReplyDeleteOh! Please post the shot. I'm intrigued as all heck now.
ReplyDeleteLily could be Rose's twin ... cats are indeed the epitomy of tranquil .. well except for Jack whose ginger temperment is almost always sweet, but be late feeding him and oh my he gets cranky
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better soon!
Sorry. :-(
ReplyDeletethey certainly spend a lot of hours doing this! beautiful kitty and photos!
ReplyDeleteShe does look quite tranquil as only a cat can do. I know that she left the world having found love and a family who loved her. She looks like Holly's Snowball who, like Lily, found her family.
ReplyDeleteHope that the lurgy (?) is better or healed... ('splain that to us)
Bises,
Genie
How cute and how wonderful of you to take her in and allow her to enjoy her golden years.
ReplyDeleteDarryl and Ruth :)
Wonderful!:)
ReplyDeleteSooooo relaxed and soft.
What a couple of sweeties...you and the kitty!
ReplyDeleteThe pain suffered by our cousins in the animal kingdom is immense around the world and it's nice to know there are people who care enough to do something about it!
What a lovely portrait of a lovely girl.
