Battling 'the doctor'.....!!

A few days ago after lunch at the Trigg Island Cafe with my two sisters-in-law, heading back to the car I was sidetracked for a while watching this guy wrestling with the Fremantle Doctor (you'll have to look to see what that's all about haha!) to get his board and kite into the water, check out this short video showing a kite boarding lesson, looks fun, but to be honest it exhausted me just watching him fighting the elements. Like anywhere in the world where there's a beach and strong winds, kite boarding is hugely popular, there is a spot just a few kilometers up the coast where there would probably have been ten instead of this one lone kite boarder....
Then eventually he was off and flying through the water, it looks like it would be excellent fun, if you were not 'multi phobia' challenged like moi!! Where to even begin.....!!

  2. Oh, we see guys doing this down at the harbor all the time! It wears me out just watching them, but they do seem to have fun! Great video! Your photos are gorgeous! Such a beautiful beach and that blue, green water is SO beautiful! Hope you have a great day, Grace! Enjoy!

  5. Far too much of a workout for me, lol. Not too fond of sea water either so...but I do admire the adventurous people.

  8. I might be launched out over the Indian Ocean and never seen again if I tried this. Reminds me a bit of Playa Tamarindo, which I'll see in just over two weeks.

  13. It is becoming quite popular here on the Atlantic too. Except that more often than not, the sea isn't this blue!

  16. To me that is just a waste of the seaside. Just enjoy it and stop killing yourself while I muse I say.

  17. If I tackled para surfing I suspect it wouldn't only be The Fremantle Doctor I would be seeing.

  22. This sport is arriving in France, but not in my part , beaches are too small, and no wind enough..
Did you try to count how many kinds of blue are on your pics?!!

  23. if there's one thing I wish I could learn, it's this kind of sport. ^0^
i love the grace of that kite rushing through the wind and controlling which side you want to lean on...

  25. Nice captures. Those surf-sail contraptions are quite popular here. I think I prefer taking photos on land rather than wrestling with one of those.

  27. I saw someone doing this at a local beach last spring - it was indeed exhausting watching him, and I was more than a little worried about him amongst the rocks!!

  28. I would love to be up in the air but do not think I could master the landing. The sea is a gorgeous mixture of blues and aquas!
