Above a panaoramic view looking down to York from the lookout atop Mt. Brown, or Walwalling, 'the place of weeping' to the Nyungar people .. looking across to Mt. Bakewell, Wongborel, 'the sleeping woman' last shot. As in many a great love story the wide divide did not stop the love between Wundig, a handsome young warrior of the hill people and Wilura a beautiful young girl from the valley people, but once more, as in most forbidden love stories it sadly has a tragic ending, read below. Check out the difference in the colours of the landscape between spring in the country here and now in summer, incroyable oui! Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe.. P.s. that was the last of the road trip.. until the next time :)
Magnificent views!
ReplyDeleteThe skies are very different. My new favorite word is incroyable! To me words are gifts and they hold such power! I really enjoyed your road trip, sorry to see it end, but you'll bring us to other wonderful places I know it!
ReplyDeleteOh my, that is a sad story. This has been a great road trip adventure. Thanks for sharing it with us. I love the view in the photos above.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful panoramic views, Grace !
ReplyDeleteIt is a really sad story. :(
ReplyDeleteWow. Such a huge difference with the heat!
ReplyDeleteYours is a great country!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing difference there is in the seasons! Fabulous, Grace.
ReplyDeleteAmazing wiews, Grace. The difference between the seasons is incredible. The heat will dry up anything and make it brown.
ReplyDeleteThat's quite a view, I like reading about places with a story and background to them.
ReplyDeleteGreat dreaming story. Great views from the lookout.
ReplyDeleteYour seasonal contrasts are much like I knew in California (though without the canola blossoms). Either way, the countryside is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteDreamtime stories can be pretty brutal, can't they?
It's a dramatic difference in the photos. Melbourne has gone from a lush looking green to a greyish brown colour where there is no watering. Pretty good views over the town and countryside.
ReplyDeleteIt sort of reminds me here in United States of part of the palouse of Eastern Washington.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on
Wonderfully craggy scenery.
ReplyDeleteI love the bottom shot with the rocks in the foreground and mountains in the distance and the summer dry grass.
ReplyDeleteGreat story behind this interesting landscape. The story is sad but magical.
ReplyDeleteThe outback in all its glory.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sad ending to a love story in such a beautiful landscape....
ReplyDeleteLove your banner photo! Classic summer! Why is it all the great love stories end in tragedy?
ReplyDeleteAwww, road trips should last forever, Grace (unless we can meet, that is!).
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful story, I really ike this sort of thing. So you have the blackberries, now you ae waiting for the mountains to crumble together 😉 Take care Diane
