The meerkats are a must visit whenever Aimee and I go to the Perth Zoo, they are sooo cute. Their behaviour goes from crazily digging and frolicking to flat out on their backs. The shot above must have been after said frolicking :) The Perth zoo has a successful Meerkat breeding program 'ensuring a future for the species in case numbers were to collapse in the wild'.. let's face it, endangered species are an everyday fact in this world we live in. While most snooze in the midday sun, there is always one looking out for imminent danger. Here's hoping you have a flat out not look out Sunday, take care and stay safe.. P.s. have a quick look here💙
They are way too cute!
ReplyDelete...life can tire you out.

I do love these little guys and it is good that they are breeding well in captivity. Love this post. Happy Weekend Diane
ReplyDeleteI could never understand people who fell asleep after Sunday lunch - now I do it all the time!
ReplyDeleteZoos are some of my favourite places to visit, esp when touring another city.
ReplyDeleteHello Grace, stopped by for a visit :) The Meerkat is an interesting animal, thanks for sharing. I used to loathe zoos but I've realized in recent years that eventually the zoo will be where we find most of our 'wild' animals. It makes me incredibly sad.
ReplyDeleteThey are always so funny, the way they stand and look around. You caught them at the right time lying down very dramatic, such drama queens!!
ReplyDeleteClicking the first photo makes the gender of the meerkat is quite obvious.
ReplyDeleteEven a meerkat has to take it easy sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI worked for a small private zoo for a while. They had a little colony of meerkats in a very nice enclosure, one of my favorite things about the place. Loved the meerkats.
ReplyDeleteSo cute :) Love the post
ReplyDeleteThese critters are right up there with otters so far as being fun and funny go! Glad to hear that there's a good program to ensure their continued longevity!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a perfect lazy Sunday afternoon at Meerkat Manor.
ReplyDeleteHow lazy can you be. Perfect for a sunny moment.
ReplyDeleteAwwww, soo cute... and clever, too!
ReplyDeleteI am lazing, too. Ingo is sewing. Well, what to expect, right? ;-)
they are so wonderful and cute...
ReplyDeleteAhhh.... so nice to relax in the sunshine and let someone else look out for any danger.
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute and so clever. One of them is always on the lookout.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh when I saw this post. I just told someone that I was planning a post about meerkats but that I needed to find an old photo I could scan and use to help tell the story. I'm still looking. I LOVE meerkats and it's usually the first place I head when I visit a zoo. They are such charming little creatures.
ReplyDeleteYep even in wonderland one must take naps! Cute captures!
