When you go into the city these days surprises abound around every corner.. let's have a look. First up the Perth Firefighters calendar, raising money for Princess Margaret Hospital for Children burns unit. It's true what they say about firemen, dedicated and fit :) Bravo brave firefighters, you do an amazing job for which we are truly grateful and Mr. July, signing calendars below, maybe next time.. only kidding :)
This talented young man riding a unicycle while at the same time playing the theme from 'Game of Thrones' .. made Aimee happy :)
A face on Albert Facey House.. that made me happy, lol...
A whimsical Christmas tree that made us both happy :)
The deck chairs are out.. the water feature on in Forrest Place, the kids are happy..
Mega shopping spree, making retailers happy. For Australia the last two days have not been happy, for two families Christmas will never be the same again, for me personally it was a tense day, precious members of my family were very much closer to the danger than I expected them to be and we were more than relieved when they arrived home safely.. wouldn't it be a wonderful world if we could all begin and end our day safely. Hope you have a safe Wednesday, take care...

ReplyDeleteFun post, G.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you and yours are safe.
Love you 🌴☁
Love your colorful captures for the day, but more than that I, too, am so glad you and yours are safe!! Your world looks so bright and sunny and mine could surely use some color!! GRAY, gray and more gray!! But have to admit it isn't terribly cold, just grim!! Your pics are, as always, so full of sun and happy people!!
ReplyDeleteAs ever, a wonderful collection of photos that made me smile. So sad the recent events in Sydney. Glad your family is safe.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of you those lat days , hoping you had no relative in that bad situation. I'm so sad for the two families .
ReplyDeleteAt least , you could make us smile :those firemen are really ... mmmmmm! :o)
Your photos are so happy and upbeat. Quite the contrast to the terrible news from Sydney. These misguided terrorists could not be more wrong. They don't terrorize, they just make nations angry which is not positive. Keep focusing on the fun things you find to photograph.
ReplyDeleteAre those really fireman? If yes, then if anything goes wrong, they can switch to modeling. :)

That Christmas reminds me of a visual 'magic eye' puzzle. Here now; gone later.
ReplyDeletegetting a few minutes to visit you here made me VERY happy .. xo
ReplyDeleteThat first photo put a smile on my face immediately. I was so sorry to hear about the madness in Sydney and I'm so happy that your loved ones are safe.
ReplyDeleteHappy Old Year !
ReplyDeleteThese firemen look very athletic.
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
Filip
Nice mix of photos. My dad was a (volunteer), fire fighter and he didn't look a bit like these guys, weird that! Cool guy on the bike. Looks like the blonde babe have been out shopping with her dad. Nice day for all of this.
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots, Grace. Those. Firefighters are sizzling hot. You captured some great street scenes here.
ReplyDeletePlaying a violin while riding a unicycle?? I can't do either one...let alone at the same time!
ReplyDeleteThank you for a very interesting series of photos. I think members of the female persuasion will appreciate the first two shots more than the rest of us. I like the face on the wall. Perth is such an amazing city!
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a calender like THAT (guess I'm getting old;)

gotta admit, the firefighters are my favorite part of this post ;) that christmas tree is super cool...lots of sad things going on in the world right now...glad you and your family are safe
ReplyDeleteI do like the tree.
ReplyDeleteAhh - the firemen! There is a lot of work in those abs, Grace!
ReplyDeleteGrace, did you wear those shorts to play with his hose? :-) Firemen come and ring at your door here and though the one I bought my calendar from was very good looking, I didn't get an autograph!!!!
ReplyDeleteI've been hoping your family members in Sydney are all safe.
ReplyDeleteYou've once again confirmed that Australia has the best looking men on earth!
I think you have just made 95% of firefighters feel very concerned about their shapes. I love the Christmas tree and what a clever young man on the unicycle.
ReplyDeleteNice shots. I am amazed that the violin player can keep his balance.
ReplyDeleteThe news out of Sydney reminded me of the uncertainty and tension here two months ago after the incident at the War Memorial.
ReplyDeleteThat violinist must be well balanced!
The firefighters are quite, um... fit.
ReplyDeleteThinking about Sydney and all of the lives touched by this senseless tragedy.
Bises,
Genie
Oh, a bit risque. Add one more X to that calendar page and you'd have some popular Australian beer.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the fire fighters: hubba hubba.
ReplyDeleteAlbert Facey had it right though - we do have a fortunate life despite all the tragedies we hear about every day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful collection to celebrate Christmas Grace. My favourite is the unicycling violinist I can do neither and would end up flat on my face.
ReplyDeleteWhat a GREAT posting!
ReplyDeleteA BIG SMILE all the way from Stavanger / Norway.
Feel so sorry for that terrible attack in the cafe in Sidney, there are fanatic weirdos everywhere it seems.
ReplyDeleteI like the last photo better than the first! Not to detract from firemen, I spent 27 years in the fire service and those fellows deserve all the good that society can give them. First one for the ladies and the last one for the fellows.
ReplyDeleteSad to hear the news of the terrible happenings across the country from you.
Glad your family was safe Grace, what a tragedy!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of fun happenings in the city, I love those colourful deckchairs by the sprinklers.
"Yummo" for the first pics, and awwww, those chairs at Forrest Place! Sitting here with cold feet it warms up a bit ;-)
ReplyDeleteGlad your family is safe, Grace! What weird, sad times.
Wonderful images ! And the fire men looks very cool.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I could play the violin while riding a unicycle if I wanted . . .
ReplyDeleteThe Perth siege was so sad. I was hoping that all hostages would get out safely.
