Do you ever wonder where birds go when it's bucketing down with rain? Well in my world they sit and glare at me whenever I venture outdoors! The
Galah's chest feathers are almost red when soaking wet, as for the
Corella he was just a dirty boy :) Oh la! they do look a wee bit pitiful though. The dove sitting stoically in the background waiting for his share of the soggy birdseed made me smile :) As much as I love the rain I would happily wish it over to NSW right now, my heart goes out to all those who have lost their homes..and more in the bushfires. Take care over the weekend.....
Spectacular colours!
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine how annoyed they must be, all that rain soaking them up...
Fun shots and they do look pretty annoyed by the weather!! Beautiful, colorful birds -- wet or dry!! Hope all of you are enjoying the weekend -- in spite of the weather!!
ReplyDeleteIls sont magnifiques avec des couleurs extraordinaires , magnifiques photos!
ReplyDeleteSchöne Farbenfrohe Vögel der Regen wird ihnen nicht so gefallen.

I marvel at all those wonderful birds you see daily. Also very envious.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful birds! I wish we had them here!
ReplyDeleteOur birds take cover for the most part, crows don't seem to mind rain but I see small birds like sparrows in the open buildings at the barn. We have bright red male cardinals but nothing that looks like your birds.
ReplyDeleteI often think of birds when it rains, wondering where they fly to get some protection..
ReplyDeleteHere our birds have not such beautiful colors!
They do look pitiful. Did the dove ever make it to the feeder?
ReplyDeleteThat really is a rather motley crew.
ReplyDeleteAt my parents' house the little sparrows fly up under the awning over the front porch to escape the rain. I don't blame them!
ReplyDeleteNice birds Grace..... i like these shots.
ReplyDeleteVery cool bird shots! They look like they were posing for you. Aloha
ReplyDeleteVery bright and colourful
ReplyDeleteThey certainly look pathetic. I wonder if they are not going through some kind of moult too.
ReplyDeleteInteresting and colourful topic, Grace - can't say I've ever seen a soaked bird up close.
ReplyDeleteSimply surreal colour. They look cosy towards each other
ReplyDeleteThey look better in the rain than I would.
ReplyDeleteThe fires in NSW are horrible. I hope they get relief some time soon.
that first galah looks very annoyed! at the rain, or the photographer??
ReplyDeleteLove the ones with the red feathers.
ReplyDeleteWhat a special colours that red on their chest. Yes, those bushfires look awful, I saw it in the news here.
ReplyDeleteThey are the saddest looking birds I have ever seen, usually they fluff their feathers and look happy for a bit of a bath. The must be so over the rain. Great pics.
ReplyDeleteThose poor birds... oh, yes, the water´d be needed so much in NSW. Frightening it is. Sometimes I´m glad I live in boring Germany!
ReplyDeleteBedraggled is the perfect word to describe to look here. Still, you are lucky to have such colorful birds visiting your yard on a regular basis.
ReplyDeleteRound here they come complete with umbrellas!
ReplyDeleteGotta be males!
ReplyDeleteJust strutting their stuff.
Fascinating and strangely repulsive :-)
ReplyDeleteSuch bedraggled sweeties!!!
ReplyDeleteTheir plumage is so brilliant in the rain, though they do look a bit soggy poor birds! I love the colors and that bottom collage. Also thinking of those poor people affected by the fires.
ReplyDeleteBedraggled, but still beautiful..
ReplyDeleteI love the colors even though some of these birds look a little worse for wear. Nice collection of shots.
ReplyDeleteI love the pets very much, Nice & Colorful Birds.
ReplyDeletevery colourful... love it!
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky Grace to have these birds in your yard! Poor "little" birds:) I heard about the brushfires....I hope they get them under control soon:(
ReplyDeleteCool birds.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to see these beauties getting soaked!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos though...
Those are lovely pictures, love the color of the birds.
