Christmas under the hot Perth sky..

It was a day of firsts yesterday. My first trip into the city for ages, the first time I've picked up my camera since I don't know when, you can probably tell that from these shots :) The first time I've posted a blog in almost a month. Thank you to everyone who has emailed their concern over my absence and apologies for not answering, apart from physical fatigue I seem to have computer fatigue also, believe me I have sat down in front of my computer many times but that's as far as it has got. I am alright, a few medical issues that are being addressed. Am hoping to be up and running from the beginning of the new year. We have had a few days of really hot weather here in Perth, welcome to summer :) Here's wishing you a very happy and safe Christmas, catch you soon 💙

The cat on the mat..

The cat that is not mine has made himself very much at home.. in typical lord of his realm style he demands to be let in the back door, strolling through to the front door, a bit of a wash in the sunlight before turning with that ' I'm ready to go out now' look! Just to let you know I am still here, I have pictures to share but unfortunately no energy to do so. I'm having a few health issues which hopefully will be resolved soon. I hope you are happy and well and look forward to catching up in the near future. Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe..

Remembrance Day..

We cherish, too, the poppy red
That grows on fields where valor led;
It seems to signal to the skies
That blood of heroes never dies,
But lends a lustre to the red
Of the flower that blooms above the dead
In Flanders Fields..  Moina Michael 1918

Great big mess!

 The November theme for CDP'ers is 'great big mess'. Keeping close to home again this is the great big mess in part of my garden at the moment. A week before my eye op I had a landscaping project happening in my back garden, it's only in the last few weeks that I have been able to get in there and begin the planting. So much ivy and other creepers to come out before the roses could go in. When it has filled out a bit more I'll show you if you would like to see it. My energy levels are still a great big mess also :) Hope you are fit and well, looking forward to seeing what is messy in your world, take care and stay safe..

Larking around..

It has been a bit of a two months for the family, apart from my eye surgery, much to come to grips with. I kind of lost my blogging mojo along the way but a concerned email from blogger pal in Toronto, thanks Pat, with the advice to look close to home for inspiration gave me the push to step into my garden yesterday to take a few shots of a family of visiting mudlarks aka magpie-larks. Not as flamboyant as the rainbow lorikeets and galahs I usually show, the black and white mudlarks are among my favourite visitors. Mum and dad below right keeping an eye on their youngsters as the cat that's not mine was relaxing with one eye open in the garden also :) If any CDP'ers reading this can let me know what the November theme day subject is I will use that as the return to daily blogging. Hope you are faring well in this crazy world we live in at the moment, take care and stay safe..

Spring.. I almost missed it lll

I definitely missed the tulips at their peak this year during the Araluen Tulip Festival. By the time we got there in the second week of September the tulips were a bit like me, slightly past their best :) They were still very pretty though and I hope you enjoy my efforts to capture that. Final check up on Friday and I'm pretty sure all will be well, looking forward to catching up and getting back to regular posting. Happy Monday, take care and stay safe 🌷

Spring.. I almost missed it ll.

The countryside along the drive to Toodyay, 85km northeast of Perth at this time of the year is so pretty. Again I took these shots a few weeks ago just after the op, a trip I enjoy at the best of times even more so when I need a bit of cheering up. I love the comical expressions of the alpacas spotted in a field along the way, they were as curious about me as I was about them :) The wildflowers scattered about on each side of the country roads look tres charming don't you think, in a few months when summer sets in they will just be a memory until next year. Thank you for being so patient with me, I hope to get back to normal (?) and visit soon, happy Friday, take care and stay safe..
