Secret grotto..

Yesterday reminded me that it is not only good but also essential to change up established habits. Parking at a different angle in a different spot in my local garden nursery allowed glimpses of colour in a place that I had long forgotten about. To be fair the nursery has long forgotten about it also as you have to push your way through overgrown bushes to reach it. You cannot quieten the riot of colours nature creates however neglected it may be. Not strictly a grotto in the true meaning of the word but a secret spot that I'm pretty sure not many have appreciated for a long time. Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe..

Alleycats..

Oh la! What a weekend.. beaucoup de pluie! Always enjoy finding somewhere warm to have brunch at Hillarys Boat Harbour in weather like this. Alleycats Espresso has had renovations and increased it's premises recently, was delighted to see the super cool new mural here painted by Hartley Design. The last shot to show how beautifully bleak the weather was :) Happy 4th of July to all in the USA hope you have had wonderfully safe celebrations. Happy Monday, take care and stay safe.. P.s. big catch up today.

Glasshouse Dining, click the link to see how cosy it looks when dining in the evening and the menus from two of Perth's award winning restaurants.. served under glass :) In Brookfield Place, 2nd tallest building in WA, it was so popular last year it was repeated this year from the 20th to 26th June, just missed it.. next year :) Hope you have a good weekend see you on Monday, happy Friday, take care and stay safe..

Tools..

The July theme for City Daily Photo bloggers is 'tools'. As I have spent much time in the jungle garden lately I thought what better than show some of my tools. Can you guess which one I enjoy using the most? If you guessed the power hedge trimmer you would be spot on, love zipping over the hedge to tidy it up. I'm pretty used to Mr and Mrs G looking down at me from the pool fence, the cat also, but..

... this little fella was most unexpected! The tiny field mouse was there one minute and gone the next, it was after the left overs in the bird seed trays. Here's the deal little chap, stay up in the top garden and we won't have a problem, enter the house and we'll have to rethink the situation :) Happy Thursday, take care and stay safe..

Winter in Hyde Park..

Hyde Park is one of the prettiest parks to stroll around in any season but the plane trees that line the lake look amazing in their stark nakedness during winter. I wanted to use either the first or second image here as my new winter header shot and after much frustration and even more cursing like a sailor I got the shot into position in layout but the quality wasn't good, it was blurry and unacceptable to me to use as the first image people see when they click on blog. Anyone else having this problem. I really like having a seasonal header shot and hope I can sort this issue.. tips anyone? Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe..

Much ado about nothing..

Walking around Hyde Park yesterday in search of a new winter header shot there was a right kerfuffle going on in the lake. The face off between a dusky moorhen, red beak yellow tip, and an Eurasian coot, white beak, went downhill fast when the moorhen called in support from family, leaving the pugnacious coot defending it's feeding spot heavily outnumbered. Not so sharp shots as there was lots of vigorous flappy action but fascinating to watch nonetheless. The coot deciding three to one were not good odds swam off, perhaps to recruit help :) Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe.. P.s enjoyed the colours in the water in these shots..

Architects and heroes..

Street art is coming indoors. So many private homes, cafes, hotels and businesses are livening up their space with art. I think it's a brilliant idea, found this gem in Architects and Heroes on Rokeby Road in Subiaco. Painted by super talented ArtByDestroy who's extensive body of work covers everything from pretty to pretty dark, see what I mean HERE.. there are a couple of clown murals there that would freak Aimee right out :) Hope you had a good weekend, happy Monday, take care and stay safe..
