It was slightly mesmerising watching the large goldfish.. more of a koi really, tail swishing lazily as it made it's way through the pond grasses, at times disappearing before reappearing briefly. There are a lot of unsavoury characters out there in the wild that would enjoy a fishy dinner, so...

... I was happy to see him disappear into the depths once more, if you pull the shot in below you can just see the last golden flash in the cloud reflections before he goes down into a safer place! Keep yourself in a safer place and have a lovely Sunday, take care..

Social distancing..

Remember the good old days when you 'socially distanced' yourself from someone because they'd eaten too much garlic and hadn't cleaned their teeth.. life seemed much simpler back in the good old days, when was that again.. oh yeh, a few months ago! How unbelievable to find the whole world in the crisis situation it is now. In the city on Thursday it was good to see Perthites practicing social distancing as they chatted and went about their business. How has the situation affected you so far, are you self- isolating, working from home, or going about life as normally as possible? Happy Saturday, take care and stay safe.. All Mixed Up..

The word awesome is hugely overused, I try not to use it unless something really is...awesome! Last week we went to the Fremantle Arts Centre specifically to see the All Mixed Up exhibition. I cannot express it any more succinctly than John McDonald, Sydney Morning Herald..“The Festival’s stand-out exhibition is by an indigenous artist but anyone who imagines Aboriginal painting as a matter of ochres, dots and symbols is going to be blown away by John Prince Siddon's All Mixed Up at Fremantle Arts Centre. Siddon is a Walmajarri man who lives in the remote township of Fitzroy Crossing, but his style of painting and sculpture is eclectic, gothic, psychedelic. I’m regularly surprised by new developments in indigenous art, but in this instance I was staggered.”  I was also!

Although unlike traditional Indigenous art if you look closely, through a 'surreal kaleidoscope of colour the artist does offer an incisive commentary and essential perspective on the political and social issues of today, and on Western Australia’s dark and mostly undocumented history'. Swings and roundabouts..

The lead you lose on the way there you gain on the way back! The rowing teams practicing on the Swan River switched lead position on the way back past the city below.  A couple of shots to show that at this time of the year the skies over Perth are not always blue, we have had a blissful smattering of rain over the last few days, probably not enough to make much difference to the levels in the dams but bliss for the garden, my lawn grew about six inches in a week :) Will make up for the grey skies today with some amaaaazing art tomorrow. Araluen.. A park for all seasons.

There is something undeniably restorative about being surrounded by and walking under tall trees, the air is so fresh and subtly perfumed.by the underlying blooms. Now that we are officially into autumn on Monday we went to see if the trees were changing colour at Araluen Botanic Park. A bit early, I think a return visit in a month, not that we need an excuse but I haven't seen the park in autumn, I'm imagining much splendour 🍂 You have seen Araluen in spring here when the tulip festival is held but summer, winter and autumn will be a sight to look forward to :) Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe, especially in these troubled times..

What do you think about spam?

Following the lead of the two galahs above chatting over breakfast yesterday morning thought I'd start up a conversation here with you :) I've been having a few problems lately commenting on certain of my favourite blogs, specifically blogs that use comment moderation. I understand it is to avoid nuisance spams, which I too was getting. This is what I did.. went to 'design' on my blog, down to 'spam' in the comments, there were over ten thousand spam that it had stopped coming through, I cleared the spam folder and since then haven't had any, fingers crossed! So here's the thing.. I wonder if the spam folder only holds so many and if you clear it out every so often it might catch the few that slip through. What do you think, do you clear your spam folder.. just a thought :) Happy Monday, take care and stay safe..
