'An inconvenient heatwave'..

Getting broiled in the daytime
And slow-cooked at night,
Could it be that
Al Gore was right?

It has been a hot couple of days in WA with more to follow.. the sky relentlessly blue, hot winds blowing in from the desert. It's been a while since summer started on time, December usually being relatively cool. The party is over, let's have another coffee 😉 Happy Tuesday, take care and keep cool..

'It's always summer in the house of rum'..

Spotted a few weeks ago when we were at Scarborough Beach. Murals on the wall of Ocean 6019 aka Temple of the Tiki. Painted by WA based multi-disciplined artist Rach Ku whose abstract and original art is often inspired by the ocean.. super cool and so perfect for the beachy vibe at Scarborough. OMG it's officially summer and only three weeks until Christmas, I'm not ready for either, are you? Happy new week, take care and stay safe..

All the colours of the rainbow.

Each month through 2019 has started with a colour theme for City Daily Photo bloggers around the world.. for December it is the joining of all the colours to create a rainbow image. I haven't seen an actual rainbow for a while but I did see see all of the colours here at Chatsworth Deli, once a deli now a florist, in Highgate. Combining three of my favourite things, colour, flowers and messing about with photos :) Looking forward to seeing how others have interpreted the rainbow theme, happy Sunday, take care and stay safe..

Holey cheese Batman!

Church window holes that is :) Reflections of St John's Anglican Church in Kings Square in the windows of Kakulas Sister. Here you will find cheeses to die for.. spices and all things nice also, but the cheese, oh la! I cannot resist a soft delightful brie and have at times gorged nibbled my way through a whole round, shocking I know :) What is your weakness food wise? Happy weekend, take care and stay safe..

Whatever floats your (house)boat..

Walking alongside the boats at the marina yesterday, the houseboat here stood out from the crowd of tall mast yachts and other pleasure cruisers. A homely looking craft and as I watched, the owner returned home with his groceries. It got me thinking about what it might be like to to be able to up anchor and away with the tide whenever you fancied, off to adventures new. What do you think, would life on the waves be right for you? Btw if you read the name on the houseboat it is Tranquility, perhaps that says it all :) Happy Friday, take care and stay safe..

Bloomin' beautiful..

While having lunch a few days ago in the beautifully restored Guildford Hotel, to side of shot below, I couldn't take my eyes off the stunning jacaranda blooms along the street outside and couldn't wait to take a few shots. The jacarandas are flowering profusely all around Perth at the moment but seldom have I seen boughs so laden with blooms that they droop.. aren't they fabulous. James Street, aka Guildford's antique strip, is one of the busiest streets in Perth and at this time of the year one of the prettiest 💜 Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe..

Blowing in the wind..

In Guildford yesterday to have lunch with mon amie française Marie we were witness from afar, as were all for miles around, to a huge industrial fire in a waste facility in the adjoining area of South Guildford. Pallets of compressed plastic and compressed cardboard blocks destined for recycling fueling the fire. It was quite something to watch, if you are interested you can read about it and see the fire here. The billowing smoke changing direction with the wind gave an insight into some of the unimaginable difficulties the fire fighters and volunteers who are dealing with horrendous fires blazing around the world right now have to deal with. Was a bit worried about the helicopter below, it seemed to get too close but it probably just looked that way from my perspective. Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe..
