Oh yes I do see a shark fin there but we won't talk about that :) In Leederville for a super fun Fringe World event yesterday afternoon I was delighted to come across the 'couldn't be more Aussie than this' mural in the distinctive neon glow styling of Drew Straker, last seen here using the same technique to create a negative effect. Down a laneway off Oxford Street the Straker glow beckoned :) pretty cool don't you think! Happy Monday, take care and stay safe..

Fringe World 2018.. A pirate's tale.
In the city two pirates bold
Their (plastic) swords they did hold
Swashbuckling began in earnest
The whereabouts of the treasure to learnest :)
A young maiden walking by
Captured the pirate's eye
The battle it was over..
Words bein' mightier than th' sword
Discussion with th' crew did follow
To find that spot marked 'X'
So in the treasure they could wallow!
I never said I was a poet but bless me hearty I do try :) In the city yesterday checking out some Fringe World fun.. lots of free goings on for the kids, like the live action treasure hunt here. So much more to see over the next week. Happy Sunday ye landlubbers, take care and stay safe.. P.s. big catch up today..

The Big Splash VI.. 'Spider-Man Spider-Man, does whatever a spider can'..
You didn't think we were fini with the dolphins yet did you :) Watch out💥 It's friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man! Created by mural artist Samantha Prentice reflected in the window of Channel 9 Studio on St Georges Terrace. One of the 36 dolphins around the city in the The Big Splash WA and Perth Children's Hospital Foundation event to raise awareness to the mental issues of children and young people. Did I mention that the dolphin was chosen to represent The Big Splash WA 'because of the
many similar traits between dolphins and humans. Like us, dolphins
thrive in groups, display distress in isolation, have distinct
personalities and flaws, protect their young and most vulnerable, and
need to come up for air and to blow off steam from time to time'. Super cool right! Happy weekend, take care and stay safe..

Just another summer day...
One of the coolest places right in the heart of the city to sit and enjoy the summer breezes is in Central Park, the gardens that surround the Central Park building. Now, in summer under the canopy formed by the magnificent tall trees and in winter when they are stark and naked letting in the winter sunshine. Perth is having it's mildest summer in 25 years (check out yesterdays weather report). The first summer in 16 years without a 40C day! Hallelujah, I'm not complaining :) Happy Friday, take care and stay safe..

Twenty four X millions...
"The introduction of a few (24) rabbits could do little harm and might provide a touch of home, in addition to a spot of hunting" so said Thomas Austin in 1859.
How wrong he was! Looking at the shot below would you have spotted it? I didn't but P did! They are so darned cute with their big ears and twitchy noses but since that fateful introduction they began breeding.. like rabbits! Despite the building of the 3256km Rabbit proof fence (an interesting read) between 1901-1907 rabbits are now a declared pest in WA causing much damage to coastal dune vegetation. A successful rabbit control program carried out at various points along the coast concluded in a 92% reduction, if you want to know how read here. In a totally irrational way I'm kind of glad this fella survived :) Happy Thursday, take care and stay safe.. P.s. I added a few other things spotted on our coast walk, Perthites are so enthusiastically energetic at 6.00 am :)

Fringe Buskers Weekend.. Tumble Circus.
Perth as always in February is gripped by Fringe fever! So many fantastic shows to see that it's almost impossible to choose! Many of the artists took to the streets of the city last weekend during the Fringe World Buskers Weekender. Two of the crew from Ireland's award winning Tumble Circus entertained an enthusiastic audience with a hilarious mix of acrobatics and juggling on the stage in Forrest Place. If you are wondering why I took the shots from behind, three reasons.. one I had the space all to myself, two I wanted the city and the audience as a backdrop, and thirdly I was in a good position to ask for the shot above when the show was over.. clever thinking right :) Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe..

Puppy Love..
I looove this one, just look at that face💙 On the way home from breakfast on Sunday we stopped in Yokine to find the lovable pooch here on the side wall of the new Aldi building in the Dog Swamp Shopping Centre. Part of the re-brand of the shopping centre this and ducky just around the corner were created by Kingman Visual. If you were curious re the name, it was originally named ' Native Dog Swamp' by the English, referring to the dingoes or
native dogs who would have
used the waterhole for drinking purposes.. nowadays it is a bird sanctuary, not a dingo in sight :) Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe... P.s. thanks so much for all the lovely birthday wishes for Aimee yesterday..
