If they are lucky enough to be part of a loving family it really is a dog's life. Sorry I got a wee bit carried away with pics today :) It's always fun to find a spot on Hillarys Dog Beach close to home and watch the dogs cavorting on the sand and in the water. The brown, curly haired dog above, centre below and in a few of the other shots was such a character, flinging himself about with gay abandon, so happy to be there with his fellow canines! It's a busy section of the beach, always lots of dogs with their doting owners.. will have to head down there at the weekend when the horses will be there also. Happy Thursday, take care and stay safe..

The National Public Toilet Map!
I kid you not! Lonely Planet's 'Toilets: A Spotter's Guide', lol, that's seriously what it's called :) was the inspiration for the 'turtle toilet' here in Claughton Reserve in Bayswater now on the National Public Toilet Map! You can't say you don't get diversity here :)
Above the colourful entrances into the ladies and the men's and below glimpses of the Swan River. It's not what I was expecting but worth a look. While we're on the subject :) to see some of the most amazing loos in Australia check out Aussie Loos with Views. If you're not already following RedzAustralia and are interested in traveling Oz you should be.. incroyable photos and information. Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe.. P.s. TURTLE POWER.. someone had to say it :) :)

Any guesses?
A little teaser for you and a stretch out post pour moi :) Is it a sculpture, a maze?
Any ideas? Set in a woodland park with glimpses of the Swan River it is a little unexpected and sometimes a most welcome sight.. bit of a clue there along with the gender specific colours, huge clue there :) More tomorrow.. happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe..

Colours in the air, colours everywhere, like a rainbow..
On our way home from Fremantle last week we stopped in at Claremont to take a few shots of this vibrant piece by Australian artist Ian Mutch on the wall of The Pizza Lounge.. check out more of his work here. Drawing inspiration 'from his upbringing surrounded by wild
landscapes, animals and patterns' I'm happy to say that he has chosen to settle here in the south-west of WA. I will be on the look-out for more of his work to show you here. Hope you had/are still having a good weekend. The weather in the Northern Hemisphere has been described as 'pockets of cold in a warming world' and yet there are still some who deny climate change.. incroyable! Happy Monday, take care and stay safe..

From many angles..
A bit of blue to balance out the hot red from yesterday :) these shots were taken on the same day, amazing the difference being by water as opposed to the city streets! You can have a bit of fun with the angles of the double arched suspension Elizabeth Quay bridge. Above, if you pull the shot in you can see in the frame the State War Memorial high up in Kings Park. Below the cranes are beavering away on something that may or may not look like this.. I am reserving judgement :) Further below as the ferry comes in from South Perth the arches of the bridge look as if they are deflating and need a wee bit of air pumped in :) I'm sure it won't be the last time you will see the bridge here. Happy Sunday, take care and stay safe..

Bicycles are not permitted in foyer..
Reflections of Trinity Uniting Church nestled between the skyscrapers along St Georges Terrace. Also the outside seating and rouge umbrellas of Rosso Espresso reflected in it's own windows. Taken on Thursday, can you tell by the light how hot it was, definitely hat weather if strolling around taking pics.. guess who didn't have one on! I can't believe after living in a hot climate for most of my life I sometimes still forget to slip-slop-slap :) Sunburn isn't fun! Bon weekend, take care and stay safe..

The Golden Eagle..
The Western Australian gold rushes in the late 1800's brought a flood of prospectors from overseas and interstate in search of their fortune. Boom times for WA. It was during this time that most of the gorgeous heritage buildings that have appeared on the blog were built. Incredibly tough times too. Locations like Halls Creek,Coolgardie and Southern Cross would have been a bit like hell with limited natural water before the pipeline went in. They were tough stock back then! The story of the discovery of the Golden Eagle nugget (click link) is definitely worth a read. The nugget is the start of Perth's first virtual gold trail starting here at Elizabeth Quay and ending at the Perth Mint. A heck of a lot easier than the original gold trail right! Happy Friday, take care and stay safe..
