Under their umbrellas..

Very cool to see that although most, not all, city workers wear predominantly black at least their umbrellas are colouring up the mall when they venture out during the midday break. Love the leopard skin pattern umbrella above, will add to shopping list :) Looking back through my photo archives I was astonished to see how few rainy winter shots I've taken over the last three or four years.. hoping to amend that, I heard we are in for lots more pluie during July! Another week almost over, happy Friday, take care and stay safe.. P.s. How about the Eiffel Tower mbrella last shot.. Francophile?

  1. The Eiffel tower one is my favourite.

I've got a couple of umbrellas stashed away at home... and it's been years since I've used them.

  2. Lots of fun umbrellas, love the leopard print one. I have a pink and an orange umbrella, that I hardly use.

  3. All very colourful. My grandmother met my grandfather when he gallantly shared his umbrella with her one rainy day, so I suppose I owe my existence to that brolly!

  4. Umbrellas as a fashion statement. Lots of variety and colours. They don't perform well here with the wind most of the time. People here will wear colourful hats and coats so show their fashion choices to the masses. :)

  5. Black seems to be the dominant clothing choice here too, Grace! I have a red brollie!

  7. Like the first and the last best but they really are a colourful bunch. I am wondering where you are standing that you are over the top of all the brollies, fabulous view. Take care Diane

  10. I haven't seen that many people with umbrellas here, but I like the big golf ones cos they seem to be alot sturdier and less likely to blow inside out.

  11. Regarding the impending theme, I highly recommend a prominent church. That's what I'm doing, the most iconic church here in the city.

  12. You are obviously of the school that makes lemonade when life serves lemons. Wonderful umbrella photos.

  14. Your rainy day shots are great!! Most of us don't think about venturing out with our cameras when it's raining. I really like that first photo. Since you can't see her face, it adds intrigue and mystery!

  17. Love all these umbrellas! I grew up in San Francisco where a venerable umbrella was one that lasted through more than one rain. A storm wasn't a storm unless it turned an umbrella inside out and I never mastered how to manage one right. I finally moved on to rain hoods. But that Eiffel Tower number might convert me back.

  18. Ohhh, Grace, I love to see this!
And, despite the sun is shining bright and we likely get 31C today I´m tempted to finally buy a Braunschweig-brolly! Over the years I thought, naaah, but seeing the Paris-one, oui? Is there a Perth one, btw?

  24. These are great shots. I love the leopard umbrella too! I wonder where I could get one. It would last a long time because they hardly ever get used here.

Bravo Grace :)
