We weren't there for the views but it was impossible not to be distracted, especially when you can see two cities from one spot! Standing atop Buckland Hill to the left the mechanical giraffes in Fremantle Harbour and to the right just visible over the tree tops Perth..
Below a clue as to why we were there.. fascinating stuff! Can you see there is the slight shadow of a ship out to sea directly in firing line, thankfully it's 2018 and not 1942, huge clue :) Show you tomorrow. Happy Sunday, take care and stay safe..
A ship from a country that was on the wrong side in WW II, I assume. It looks like a good spot to explore, Grace!
ReplyDeleteThese shots are so beautifully saturated with the colors of WA. That shot of Perth over the rooftops is breathtaking. Some gorgeous homes there! And the last shot was probably taken from an old coastal bunker built to defend Australia from the Japanese onslaught. Oui?
ReplyDeleteNice shot along the barrel of the BIG gun...and your 'mechanical giraffes' :) Happy Sunday Grace!
ReplyDeleteGreat views from your spot there, Grace!
ReplyDeleteEine schöne Aussicht von dem Platz über die Stadt.
ReplyDeleteNoke
Great views. I look forward to the rest!
ReplyDeleteA WWII ship I guess but what? Glad you enjoyed "Going up" LOL. I loved all his songs. Enjoy your Sunday Diane
ReplyDeleteGreat views Grace. Did you get to fire the cannon?
ReplyDeleteLooks like a pleasant area. The gun emplacements are not uncommon. That's why the southern tip of Manhattan is called The Battery.
ReplyDeleteI would have guessed the cannon was WWI. I like the centre photo with Perth's buildings in the distance.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a view down an old gun or cannon. Beautiful views in the first two shots!
ReplyDeleteAircraft carrier?? It looks like you were in a nice perch for viewing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics.Interesting post.
ReplyDeleteNice, love visiting historical places like that, looks like a cargo ship in the distance.
ReplyDeleteNice views over a cannon.
ReplyDeleteTem uma vista fantástica.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e bom Domingo.

That is a pretty spectacular view. I'm going to guess you were visiting a fort of some kind. I'll be back tomorrow to see.
ReplyDeleteI couldn´t deceide which view I like more, Grace, beautiful shots!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, we can really be very thankful to not have experienced war...
I truly enjoy these adventures with you! So many places I'll never actually get to visit, but to see them here is just the next best thing.
