Come on now don't be coy. Yikes! That's a snappy looking beak you have there :)
Back up a wee bit, let's have a look at you!
I can still see you...
Oh ok.. was it something I said! Went for a stroll around the lake at Mawson Park, five minutes from home on Thursday afternoon, there was a light drizzle of rain.. so refreshing in the heat. The Black Swans on the lake were at first coy, then a little too curious, snappy beaks.. and when realizing I had no food for them, uninterested.. charming! Bon weekend, take care and stay safe...
Love watching the swans, they are so regal!
ReplyDeleteThey really are beautiful birds!
ReplyDeleteYou dare to come without food, Grace! ;-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful animals - such a difference to our "boring" white ones. Love especially the second shot.
You are so funny. thanks for the laugh. love the red bill.
ReplyDelete...now this is something that I haven't seen before.
ReplyDeleteI was accosted by some geese in a park here yesterday but they ignored me too when I had no food!
ReplyDeleteWow! Enjoy YOUR weekend, G
ReplyDeleteNo.2 is a price winning photo! It's beautiful. I wish we could see them here more often, black swans are quite rare here.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. You've got to send them to a bird publication.
ReplyDeleteSwans are so elegant...Arianna
ReplyDeleteI never know whether to be frightened of them or not. They look scary when close by and the beaks are very large.
ReplyDeleteWell, honey, if you're not gonna give us anything. . .
ReplyDeleteThey are so beautiful Grace. Love the close-ups!
ReplyDeleteEvery so often I seen them floating down the kootenai river here.

Bom começo de março para ti.
PAZ E BEM.
How beautiful is this bird.
I loved the pictures.
Good start to March for you.
PEACE AND GOOD.
It's rare to see black swans around these parts so it's such a treat for me to see these guys up close and personal. It's funny how these creatures lose interest in you quickly when they figure out you are not going to feed them.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen swans like those. The red beak looks like a sock. Great photos!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo! Black swans are very rare in Poland.
ReplyDeleteGreetings!
Never seen a swan looking anything like that. Angry red eyes. But at first I thought the top picture was a red, white and pink sock. Must be my new contacts.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of our native swans, Gracie, and just down the road from us too! x
ReplyDeleteHaha... Enjoyed your post :)
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful photos; love that broad, bright bill on that striking-looking bird.
ReplyDeleteLe cygne noir du ballet. Nous n'en avons pas chez nous.
