There is no place higher than on dad's shoulders.. that magic moment when dad first scoops you up onto his shoulders and for a fleeting instant you feel like king of the world.. my dad was 6ft tall so my sisters and I were lucky to have many such magical moments. It's not the image I had in mind for today, that one is so ephemeral I haven't taken it yet, but I will :) Very much looking forward to seeing your interpretations of the CDP theme, happy 1st of November, only 54 days left until Christmas, I know right! Take care and stay safe...
It doesn't take long before kids are too big for Dad to get up on the shoulders!
ReplyDeleteI never had a chance to enjoy that fun, but my kids did!!! Love your shots for the day as always!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Grace!!
ReplyDeleteThe highlight of any kid to be able to watch something from Dad's shoulders...
ReplyDeleteChristmas is approaching far too quickly Grace, isn't it?
Super slice-of-life shots. I remember those days with my kids!
ReplyDeleteA lovely, meaningful and touching post, Grace

Something I never did! Not a great fan of heights anyway. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful, beautiful, life-affirming moments. I think it will count when Willa is old enough for my shoulders, too.
ReplyDeleteThat is the way to do it :)
ReplyDeleteTwo perfect moments...
ReplyDeleteAn original interpretation. Mine is more traditional, but hope it will still be enjoyed!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, this brought back some great memories. I used to love to sit on my dad's shoulders in a big crowd. I can still smell his hair product, whatever it was. It smelled good and safe.
ReplyDeleteNice hats! Mom must have made them wear them. :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for theme day.
ReplyDeleteOh yes! I remember only too well how I'd howl when Dad wanted to put me down!
ReplyDeleteA moment of joy which is fleeting but the memory lasts forever. Soft light playing on wisps of hair in your top pic Grace is a beautiful touch of ephemeral.
ReplyDeleteOnly 54? What a cheery thought.
ReplyDeleteThen the day comes when you say, 'I cannot, you are too heavy', and a new stage in the life of your child begins.
ReplyDeleteLovely words Grace, well rembered...
ReplyDeleteKnow what happens with more than one child old enough to sit on one's shoulder? Generally, somehow mine did not fight. They had a way of remembering who sat there and who was next.
ReplyDelete54 days until the big day reminds me of being a child and racing to the door when the evening newspaper arrived so I could look at the top corner of the front page to see how many days were left until Christmas.
Interested to know what you are all looking at - looks like those kids needed their hats!
ReplyDeleteLovely take on the theme!!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea and great post. Mine will be up soon but not yet.

Lovely shot to this theme.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture. You don't realise how fast they grow up, children.
ReplyDeletePeople tell you and next you are telling other people the same...
Those are just charming shots. Bravo.
ReplyDeleteVery cute, Grace.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty photo's for the theme. I can't remember my father ever took me on his shoulders.
ReplyDeleteI love these photos! Lovely memories!
ReplyDeletegenieten zo lang het kan.
ReplyDeleteSo colorfu! When snapping shots of adults and children, this angle is my favorite. Perfect!!
ReplyDeleteClever interpretation! I like that you noted your ideal ephemeral shot is so fleeting you haven't had a chance to take it yet. : )
ReplyDeleteI remember those days! I was a daddy's girl--until I grew up and he didn't quite know how to deal with me!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, those are the days, they go by so quickly. Beautiful images, so uniquely you!
ReplyDeleteHow true. Happy memories for many, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting take on the theme!
ReplyDeleteNice interpretation - ephemeral experiences, jot just events.
ReplyDeleteReally nice photos of great moments in time. I never had the chance to that with my dad, but all my kids sure did with me!
ReplyDeleteExcellent choice ! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for the theme, sweet memories! Also remember that feeling.
