Can you see it, who does he remind you of? He made me think of John Lennon and like JL he was incredibly charismatic. On a warm sunny Sunday afternoon we sat and listened to The Overflow Trio and Justin Walshe Folk Machine that's Justin above, one of many such free afternoons scheduled in the Northbridge Sunday Piazza Live Autumn Season 2013. They sang the saga of the ill fated Burke and Wills expedition way back in 1860, very entertaining, the crowd relaxing on bean bags loved it.. I wasn't the only person taking photos!
A little further down James Street at the Perth Cultural Centre and a bit more uptempo a very cool Salsa group, didn't get their name unfortunately but they had the crowd up and dancing at times, the artist in the collage was just off to the side painting in time to the beat! I have heard people say that Perth is a bit quiet, not much going on..what do you think? I say it's all out there, just get out and find it. Mid way through the week already, happy Wednesday, take care.....
Music... Sun... A laid back crowd... Dancing with friends... This all sounds lovely Grace [French Girl in Seattle comments, looking at the wet, chilly spring weather outside her window...) Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteSwoon, winter sun. Sigh, very jealous. Give me salsa any day... very infectious. Thanks for making me feel summery with your photos Grace.
ReplyDeleteI love the relaxed faces of the musicians, just enjoying a beautiful day and making beautiful music! Looks so much fun and such a lovely contrast to our stormy weather! Thanks for that bit of sun, ahhh...
ReplyDeleteThis looks like fun :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun day!!! And yep...he does have the John Lennon look!!!
ReplyDeleteNot much happening? You have got to be joking. You're always running around showing us what's happening! This must have been really cool!
ReplyDeleteCompared to this Braunschweig is a boring village ;-)
ReplyDeleteSounds awesome, Grace, vraiment!
There is always movement and fun in this beautiful city.
ReplyDeleteEvening sun, music and bean bags.
I enjoyed this post.
Hugs and kisses.
Really is amazing to see so much on offer for everyone way over there in Perth. Great shots...love looking at all the people and noticing no coats :). I still need to wear mine. Gosh!
ReplyDeleteWe had music in the park too. Any sunny weekend is greatly enhanced by good music.
ReplyDeleteWow, I like those outdoor activities!
ReplyDeleteI am sure everybody enjoyed very much, especially that painter, he seemed almost danced up to catch up a brush stroke. :)
It certainly looks as if the town was hopping, Grace!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great way to spend a fall afternoon. Music, people, and a little bit of visual art to liven things up. It looks like the weather was perfect for the days activities.
ReplyDeleteWell done :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of fun. We have live free concerts on the green in Uptown on Friday evenings.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great festival, I hope that the bands were as good as what the weather looked!!!
ReplyDeleteMines up as well at AussiePomm - Vivid Sydney
Have a great day!!
Great pics of what appears to have been a great time! I'm on "break," but am posting a bit on L & L Photography (http://landlfotos.com/blog). Have a fun-filled photographic rest of the week!
ReplyDeleteGood crowd shots, Grace. He kind of reminds me of Joaquin Phoenix when he was doing that falling off the rails hoax thing for a movie some years ago.
ReplyDeleteAnd that is one fine portrait. Fun event. Thanks for taking us,
ReplyDeleteV
I also like taking photos at outdoor concerts. They start around here in about a month.
ReplyDeleteNice shots. Looks like fun.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I thought of Costa from Gardening Australia.
ReplyDeleteYou worked hard on this post! John Lennon was my first impression, too. He will be safer if he stays in Perth and doesn't move to New York.
ReplyDeleteSuper shots Grace! Where would we be without you to show us around!!
ReplyDeleteThis is my kind of day, time spent with friends enjoying music and art and the sunshine!
ReplyDeleteBises,
Genie
