Heaven scent.....

This is the same area that I took the photos of the boxing Kangaroos a few posts ago. The 53 hectacre piece of natural bushland called Hepburn Heights adjoining Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park is in the northern suburbs and five minutes away from where I live. It is at anytime of the year (as long as it's not raining) a fantastic place to walk, but now in spring when it's awash with the fragrance of my all time favourite the wild freesias, well then it's absolute bliss! Do you have a special flower that welcomes in the changing of the season for you? Here we are at the beginning of a new week once more, scary to think Christmas is just around the corner..No, not thinking about it!! Happy Monday, hope it's a good one, take care and stay safe.....

  1. I'd think that was heaven. When I was a little girl I was a bridesmaid and wore a circlet of freesias in my hair. I've loved the scent ever since. I so wish we were arriving at spring like you, instead of autumn!

  7. You've done it again.
Freesias are my favourite spring flower too .. and ... my dear Dad is at Pinnaroo with all those kangaroos ... and he used to pick bouquets of freesias for me every spring - they always remind me of him, the fragrance is gorgeous.
This post - again - brings him closer ...

  18. What ever happened to the old idea of smell-o-vision? It would be nice to have that on my laptop right now.

  19. I can imagine how fragrant this park is in the spring. I agree with Bob Crowe... smell-o-vision is the way to go!

  21. Your photo coupled with your description sound wonderful. If only I could catch a whiff through my computer screen! We don't have a heck of a lot of flowers that trigger seasonal changes here in Florida (at least for me, anyway). When I lived in Michigan, though, I loved the fragrance of lilacs in the summer. Aaaah! Hope all's been good in your corner of the world.

  22. friends sent us flowers this weekend .. a mix of white roses, hydrangea, small orchids and buds of freesia .. which opened last nite and this morning the aroma was deee-vine .. a whole garden of them would overwhelm the senses i think .. but in such a wonderful way

  26. Just beautiful...wild freesias are such a pleasure aren't they? I know just what the scent would be like as I was smelling them at the Carnival of Flowers in Toowoomba at the weekend.
