Better late than never..

I missed the link for 'favourite photo of the past year' for City Daily Photo bloggers while I was away but thought I would show you mine anyway :) I loved the shot above taken in winter for two reasons, one it's raining and secondly it's raining on St Georges Terrace, my favourite street in the city. Without a doubt our trip to the Blue Mountains was a highlight last year, it is heartbreaking that so many acres of this world heritage area have gone up in flames. The latest progress report here.. thankfully much needed rain is forecast for them later in the week..

Had to throw into the mix the two cuties below, engrossed in a game of cards on the train on the way to Katoomba. It was so cold when we were there, my favourite kind of weather :) Click here to see other favourite shots from around the world.. Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe..

  4. Each shot is suitable for your photo of the year, Grace! We had a deluge of rain on the weekend so rain isn't so thrilling to me. ;-)

  7. oh look, us kiwis have been watching in horror at the fires, we just feel so much for the people and animals here, apparently you've got rain forecast this weekend, I hope they get a good dose.

  8. I love the Blue Mountains photos. I can't bear to read about or see any more fire affected areas. Once again this morning we are shrouded in smoke, with visibility down to less that two kilometres.

  14. They're a little young to be gambling! But I'm sure it's preferable to the politicians and businessmen who are gambling with their futures. I recently decided to find out how much solar power we generate in the UK - not enough still, but unbelievably we produce more than Australia, which isn't exactly lacking in either available space or sunshine.

  16. You can't see those views at the moment ... too much smoke haze. Not sure how much of it will look burnt out when the smoke lifts.

  21. That photo of the rainy street is fantastic. I hate to think about the devastation in eastern Australia. It's a true nightmare. Love the young ones! They are in full concentration on what they are doing.
